How often do you grocery shop? (Insp. by Snoopy)

I was reading the "Where is the best place to live" post and wondered about how often you all go grocery shopping. I do it pretty much monthly and lately people have been giving me some crazy looks when I roll up with a very full cart. So I started to wonder if I'm some weirdo for doing it monthly. With 2 kids (one being an infant) I find it easier to just do it all in one big trip rather than go all the time. I do pick up really good sale items and items that run out often (milk, bread, yogurt, etc.) when I'm out but that is it. I tried once to do it weekly and I just bought way too much every week because I'm so used to doing it all.

I work 130-8pm on Thurs so have the mornings off. The other days Im 930-5.

Well, I said on that thread that we shop daily. I like only fresh food, nothing canned and not much frozen, so it requires us to shop daily.

I usually shop biweekly but I have to make grocery runs for items we've run out of or didn't remember to get about once a week or so.

I do one big weekly shop (Thursday nights after work). We pop in to the Giant at least a couple of other times during the week, usually for produce or an ingredient I need for a recipe.

Usually weekly. We don't eat much processed food, but I can usually plan a menu that requires fresh produce that doesn't last long for the first 2 or 3 days and then uses frozen produce and pasta, rice, or potatoes for the rest of the week.

I go weekly and then usually end up having to make a "mini" trip for additional milk (i buy 3 gallons at a time) and maybe more fruits. And to pick up whatever else I forgot on my first trip, lol.

I do my main grocery shopping on Sundays. But, I usually wind up going again during the week for something I forgot or, maybe, to a different store that has something on sale that I want.

You'd fit right in if you lived in London.

Many years ago, we stayed with our friend for a week and couldn't understand why the expiration date on milk was so much shorter than in the U.S. He explained that it was partly because it wasn't an issue; most people shopped every day or every other day anyway.

Mostly weekly, but sometimes bi-weekly depending on how much I bought the week before and depending on what's left in the frig and cabinets. Plus I work in a restaurant and when I'm working I eat there, and occasionally bring food home to DH, plus we tend to go out to eat at least 1-3 times a week.

Going to Ponderosa tonight after I get home from work. I've been craving their chicken wings, plus they just remodeled so I'm anxious to see what the place looks like.

I voted daily. I usually do one main trip a week. But we have a really great meat market/grocery store/sandwich shop/bakery right in the shopping center where I make a pick-up or delivery every day. And I have recently decided that using fresh meat, rather than frozen (especially chicken) makes a BIG difference in the finished product.

Plus this store has the BEST soft pretzels in the world and the whole office loves me when I show up with "lunch." Also the BEST assortment of fresh breads and rolls that I've seen anywhere. And here in the Philly area, we are really fussy about our breads and rolls. AND soft pretzels.

All of this makes it worth the daily stop!!
