How often do you go to WDW/DL/HH/VB/Aulani/Etc???

I so envy your lifestyle, especially the idea of spending most of January in WDW

DisneyFirstTimer welcome to the neighborhood! We've been DVC members for about 9 years, and nearly all of our points have been for WDW trips. We did the members cruise with points last year which was a lot of fun. We'll likely do more cruises over the years, an Aulani trip is in the cards, and certainly DLR.

It's doubtful we'd visit HH, VB, or internationally with points.
Honestly if we never did anything except WDW I'd be fine. Experiencing WDW as a member is just the best feeling.

It varies depending on what type of trips we have planned (how point intensive is the resort and the time of year we're going). We only own 250 points so that's also a determining factor. Usually we have a couple of trips per year. Last year we did 9 nights in August in a 1 bedroom at SSR. Then we ended up doing 5 nights in a std. studio at Jambo House in January. And we just got back from spending 3 nights at VGC and 7 nights at Aulani in August. Now we're all tapped out and likely won't go anywhere again until next summer. It will be a long dry spell for us but we'll probably go for about 10-14 days when we do go. We like to have enough nights / trips planned to buy AP's when we go to FL. Whether that's 2 1-week trips or 1 longer extended trip we like to take advantage of the DVC discount on the AP's. Wish there was a DVC discount on regular park hoppers but since there's not we'll take advantage of whatever we can.

We own 220 pts at Aulani. Our plan is DL 3-4 nights every year. Every third year either a week in Hawaii or 8-10 days in WDW. We are toying with the idea of a resale VGC contract of about 100 points to get in at 11 months once the kids start school. Our kids are 2.5 and just turned 4. We like 1 bedrooms for now, but think we may hit a sweet spot in a year or so where Studios can work for us for a while. .

My favorite thing to do - we love our sunset savannah balcony. We go about 2-3 times a year, depending on how many times my grandkids beg to go. We do like our trips with just the 2 of us though - less parks and more nice dinners and resort time.

For me, it's every other year (even year) for VGC and Aulani. (Left VGC Friday, and in Waikiki now, and Aulani next Satufday.)

WDW 3 times a year. Most of Dec, Jan, and Feb. (About half at DVC, and half at Hilton and Marriott timeshares.) And shorter trips in May and Oct. Usually tack on a short stay at HH and VB every other year or so.

We come from Illinois so similiar boat. Our kids are young so we don't have an issue taking them out of school (I hate summer in Orlando).

We tend to do a yearly trip and buy APs... Coming the second trip within a year of the first trip. We usually do Sat to Sat or Sat to Sunday.

We are on track (still) to become DVC members next month and I am curious how many trips you take in a year/how you use your points ...

We were thinking of taking three trips in one year (2nd week May 2015, Dec 2015, First week May 2016)- 7 day trips-- maximizing APs- using almost three years worth of points (2014-16)- then taking time off, and doing the same thing a year or so later.....

Do you prefer to just do one longer trip a year?
A few shorter trips a year?


Things we have to factor in- We fly from Ohio, and have to consider school schedules as the kids get a bit older.....

Between Aulani and WDW we do about 2 trips a year for 10-14 day vacations.

This year it was WDW in June and DL in Dec for our friend's wedding.
