It's certainly not easy to afford it. We've been very lucky - first trip in '96 (DL) was honeymoon and paid for by my in-laws. Second trip in '98 was part of a conference so one airfare was covered and our hotel room (Dolphin) was covered. Last trip '00 (cruise) was partially subsidized by a travel agency gift certificate I won at work. Next trip '02, we are using frequent flyer points plus an unused time share week belonging to my parents.
One thing we've done is everytime we are about to go to a movie or eat dinner eat or buy a new sweater, we think "What would this money buy us at WDW ?" Then we put that money aside in a special piggy bank that I made. Also, sign up at mypoints.com or milesource.com (those are 2 reward points site that I know will send rewards to Canada). I use those points to get gift certificates to restaurants in the Orlando area. For the kids ('02 will be first trip with kids), we will ask that people give them US $ or Disney dollars for Christmas so that they can have their own money for souvenirs.
Maybe we'll see you there sometime!!
