How often do you get your roots done???

i guess i'm a total cheapskate, but i cringe at the thought of paying another $105.00 to have my hair colored, highlighted, cut and styled.
i had all of that done in late september of 2010, and i've been doing the roots myself ever since, about every 7 weeks, and my hair grows pretty fast. i do, however, wait until i can see the gray before i do it. i tried loreal root rescue, but the color was bright and brassy. i tried clairol root touch up and it matches my hair color EXACTLY. love that stuff.

I go every 8 weeks. $85 for all over foils, cut, and style. I was blond as a child and teen, but when I got a real job and quit spending all my time n th sun it started to darken. I went from all over color to highlights becuase I found my self needing color every 4 weeks. Higlights last a lot longer between colors because it is not one unbroken line. WE also put a product called lumanize on my roots to lighten them slightly after the foild are done. It helps the roots not show as bad as it grows.

My hair is 99% gray. Before it turned, it was dark brown. I have to get my roots done every 10 days and at 10 days, if I don't blow dry my hair you can see the roots. It's a royal pain but the alternative is going gray which, at this time, I'm not prepared to do.
My hair grows really fast.
