How often do you get your pets groomed? With pics

This guy goes about once every 5-6 weeks. It’s ~ $75 including tip.

This one we groom ourselves, except maybe twice a year at the groomer’s.
We brush him at least once a day, the amount of hair is crazy. We blow it out when we bathe him.
I had his nails trimmed at the vet’s this week they charged $38!

38$ for nails. Crazy, definitely in the wrong business! Not taking anything away from the hard work they do.
Our pet store does it for 10$ on the weekends. I’ve honestly never brought him there, he has very high anxiety. I’m not sure what we’ll do if we have to change groomers. Even going isn’t easy, and I feel so terrible.😢

Not a poll, just curious
My guy Milo, aka the cutest boy in the world goes about every 2 months, and I trim him in between. He went yesterday . Here he is ❤️❤️
I know nothing about dogs. What kind is he?

So cute!

$180 sounds so expensive! I pay $70 plus tip.
Yeah - I am in SF Bay Area so every thing is pricier here. My groomer comes to my house so that adds to it as well. I like that the she is at my house is devoted to Violet - she is never caged or left waiting while the groomer works on another animal. I could find someone cheaper, I am sure, but my dog LOVES the groomer and she does a fabulous job with her.

He’s a mix, a Pomeranian mixed with we don’t know what. He had a very rough first ten months of life. He is a rescue.
In that photo you can’t see the Pom
I’ll try to find another . Most of them he’s just lying upside down while I work lol. The second photo is the photo shown to us (still upsets me to this day) 2 years ago, when we were told he wasn’t wanted and was about to be thrown In the garbage 🥲. So we raced to get him.

We use a mobile groomer because our dog has really bad separation anxiety. She does so much better with the van that comes to the house. It comes with a hefty price tag though. It’s $200 after tip, every 7-8 weeks.

It’s not easy with that. I never thought of even looking into that to be honest. My guy too has it bad. Our anniversary was June 17th, and we are going to supper tonight (put it that way)
I’m glad you have a way that works for you guys 🤗

I wouldn't put anyone through the hassle of doing our cat Apollo, he hates brushing and we've tried all sorts of different kinds. We do it as frequently in terms of brushing as possible without upsetting him too much...the nails get trimmed more frequently and he gets treats afterwards. He will do baths oddly better than nails and brushing but we don't give him baths much at all only when it's apparent he needs it. I've known a cat owner or two in the past who would do more professional, frequent grooming.

This was him about a month ago taking up half of the chaise part of the couch as per usual. He will be 12 in March.

Sister-in-law does take her Pomeranian in to get groomed but finds it hard for them to do a good job; a mix between too much cut off and too little (couldn't find quickly enough a pic of Scar).

It is. They charged a $17 “tech fee” which I’ve never seen before (for nails). Veterinary costs have really gone up. Normally I do nails myself but I only take a little bit off. This time I thought I’d let them do them. They did do a nice job.

And they want me to come back to do them again in four weeks!

I had a Yorkie (RIP) and I planned her grooming around holidays and special occasions so she’d look nice for those. Sometimes she’d look pretty scruffy while waiting, but I just kept her brushed and put her hair in a little ponytail to keep her hair out of eyes (we loved her little scruffy look - LOL). I miss her - she’s was 14 1/2 years old when she passed away.

My sweet girl in my office/playroom/dog room at my store - my DD played school with her 😂 (she was young then) and the other she’s on her favorite pool float. She loved being in the pool with me. Everyone knew that no one but Sophie could use that float.
