How often do you call

your adult siblings?

It's hard for me to have any privacy at work; then when I get home I feel like I hardly have any time to spend with DH. Weekends are crazy. So I keep putting it off - then I know the phone call will last two hours, so I put it off again. Next thing you know, weeks have gone by and I haven't spoken to my two sisters.

Does anyone else have this happen. Do you feel guilty

my oldest brother maybe twice a month, the middle brother hardly ever for several reasons, and the youngest at least once a week.

Sadly, the only adult sibling I have left is my evil twin brother and I try to avoid calling him unless absolutely necessary. Most calls end up with him asking me for $$ which I hate.

No - I don't feel guilty at all for not calling. I learned (a too late in life) not to allow others to take advantage of me.

Maybe twice a year. We get along fine but are just both busy. The last time I talked to him was in person at Thanksgiving.

He lives in FL and for the past 2 summers DD has spent a couple of weeks with them so we get along probably better than when we were younger.

At least twice a week. We all got Verizon to Verizon plan so we can talk for free....anytime!
One is in Illinois, one is in Alabama and I'm in TN.

When I get really busy and nothing major is going on, at least once a week. When my sister was going through some hard times we spoke more than once a day.

One bro lives 10 min. away so we get together a couple times a week, call for random things, and talk on IM. Other bro lives 1 hr. away and we talk once a week, plus often more on IM.

One pledge we made to each other is that no matter where we move or how big and busy or families/lives get, we will make an all out effort to stay close and keep in regular contact. We have such a close friendship that it would be really weird not to be in close contact. We've seen how stupid and self centered some of our aunts and uncles are and how our parents have tried, but just end up getting screwed over so we never will allow that to happen between the three of us.

My sister and I speak about 5-6X per DAY!!!! We're both SAHM's w/small kids, we live about 5 minutes away from each other so we're really close. It's nice, our kids are very close too. My younger sister is single and still lives at home, so we usually see each other a couple of times a week, don't talk so much on the phone..

I can't even remember the last time I called my sister or brother. And if I ever do call them it isjust to ask them a question. We don't really have a close sibling type relationship.

My sister is one of my best friends, I actually see her about once a week.
I talk with my sister, brother, parents and in-laws all at least once a week.

I e-mail more than I call and even that has been slacking lately. My little bro and I IM back and forth a couple of times a week. I love Yahoo. LOL

I am the oldest and have 3 younger brothers. They all have families and I am single. Therefore, I think they expect me to make all the calls since I "don't have a life" They all live in NJ and I now live in FL.

I call the oldest of my brothers at least once a week. Mostly to talk to my sil, since she is more like the sister I never had, and my niece and nephew who always want to know how the weather is in FL.

I will be meeting them at WDW in July for my niece's national Dance Competition.

The other two, maybe once a month. Never have much to say, and their wives drive me nuts!

I like to talk to all my relatives at least once a month. It can get pretty lonely here in FL, butit beats the cold winters up north.

I have 2 brothers (one older, one younger). I never call them. They both live in VA, are doctors & are very busy with wifes & kids (one has 3 kids, the other 5). I do see them about 1 every 2 months.

I have 3 sisters, all younger. 1 is single, lives in VA, we talk here & there. We're on the same cell phone plan, and we email. I see her about once a month or so. Another sister is married, also lives in VA, and has 3 kids. We talk on the phone every so often, email alot. I also see her about once a month--in fact, I'll see her this weekend. I'm taking care of her 3 kids while she & her husband go to a conference for work. I'll probably see my other sister then too. 1 sister lives here in NY, she's married with 2 kids, we talk about once a week, and I see her & her family about once a week as well. I just spent last weekend at her house, watching her kids while she & her husband took a class.

So, yeah I talk to my sisters, but not my brothers.

let's see: 5 brothers: talk to one weekly, two at least monthly, one rarely and the fifth one occasionally - plus we IM.

My two sisters and I are very close. We talk almost daily - more right now since one sister had a hip replacement & the other sis is her primary care-giver, with me filling in.

Since our Mom lives with me and DH, I hear about everyone from her. It irritates me that the brother I rarely talk to rarely calls our Mom. What's up with that?

I call my brother or he calls me every couple of weeks. Normally I think hey I haven't called him in awhile so I'll give him a call. We IM pretty often though just to say hi and stuff.

What a neat post. I was the youngest in the family with 3 older brothers. All have passed away (I'm not ancient, my youngest is in 3rd grade). How wonderful to have an opportunity to call a brother and hear his voice.

LOL, this could have almost been written by me, except we both work and don't have kids. We shoot email back and forth all day long since we both have jobs where we are at our desks all day long. I see her in person at least twice per week as well.
