How often do openings occur?

Hi Disney lovers! February 9-15th will be our first time going to WDW and while we aren't picky on hotels, we wouldn't mind staying at a Value resort to get the full experience. Currently for our dates, the Cabins are the cheapest at $335 a night. Dreams Unlimited says its because all of the regular rooms are booked up.

Does anyone have any experiences with getting on a waitlist, finding better openings over the phone, or constantly checking for openings? Any help would be appreciated.

Google for agency exclusive Disneyworld deals. There is one I see for 2/12 through 2/25. Perhaps you can get a room that way, and either stay off site the first few days, or book a split stay. If the agency deal still has rooms available, they will be a very good price.

That is right after the big dance competition and during the cheer competition. These groups book up many values onsite. I wouldn't expect much to open up at this point.

Also try checking websites like expedia and travelocity. I got the best price from travelocity when they ran a promo for extra ebates. They also have stock that is slightly different from WDW's availability.

Might check Costco travel, quick check of those dates showed availability at the Swan-Dolphin.

I’m seeing $378/night for Lion King or Cars suites at AoA.

Thanks all. I've currently got an off property apartment for ~$80 a night, and while I don't expect to pay anywhere near this good of price for on-property, I'd like to shoot for the under $150 range.

I'll definitely be calling the resorts to see if I can find anything opening up!
