How often do early buses run?

We have tickets to EMM. We will be staying at WL. We usually drive ourselves on property, but looking at the map, it would seem awfully silly to drive from WL to the TTC and then get on the monorail or boat. How frequently do buses come early in the morning? I'm trying to figure out what time to be at the bus stop.

I think there's a boat you can take also, but I don't know what time they start.

According to the information I've read, the boat starts 30 min prior to park open. If that's true, the boat won't work for my situation.

I think all written information is busses start 30 minutes prior to park opening also, but I know that's not true.

Boats tend to start running at the same time each day. Buses start running at 6:30, every morning. They run every 20-30 mins up until an hour prior to park opening.
They might run more frequently, but it's better to ere on the side of longer waits.

Does this mean if you miss a bus at your resort, it could be 20-30 minutes until the next one? We are also going to EMM in September and wondering the best way to get to MK. We also may rent a car, but I'm nervous about the boat/monerail being open.

Yes that is exactly what it means.
The boat/monorail may not be open early, but there will always be a bus.

So our best bet for that morning is to not miss that early bus. We haven't done the buses recently. Is there a sign that lets you know how long until the next bus?

I'm doing an EMM on my upcoming trip. I thought that I read somewhere to let your resort know the night before so they can make sure that buses will be running.

The CMs who work at the resorts don't know anything about the buses - I've heard they'll even quote the incorrect information from the website that buses start running an hour before the parks open.

I think I also remember seeing that somewhere sometime on a WDW web page, but it was for character breakfasts, not EMH. And in neither case does it make any sense.

Transportation always runs for EMH. Transportation is supposed to always run for early breakfasts as well, but there are some holes (like getting to Epcot pre-opening from an MK resort.)

The WL proximity to MK is such that the bus runs much more frequently than 20-30 minutes in my experience. It's more like every 10-15 minutes. (depending on the crowds and the SUVs)

There are time boards at the bus stop. They will post the expected arrival time of the next bus to each destination. The times can, and do, change as you watch! But buses hit red lights and traffic, which slows them down. But at least you can get a time.

If you're at the Wilderness Lodge, the boat to the Contemporary starts at 6:45am. It's a short walk to MK from there. I rode it three times in January. It's pretty great.
