How often are sheets changed? Opinions?

I thought Disney had signs up about sheets and towels. That sheets get changed every 4th day unless you request the be changed daily. And if you hang your towel back up the will not give you new ones. Pretty sure they have cards in the room about this.

My stay at CSR last year I kept trying to reuse my towels, and would hang them up. Housekeeping would take them anyway.

Yes, I've seen the sign at most of the resorts we've stayed at. I've also hung the towels and had them take them anyhow. As someone who cares about being green it drives me a bit crazy when they do that.

As for sheets I never notice if they change them at all and wouldn't care if they did.

Ewwwwww, this thread gives me the heebie jeebies! I couldn't imagine getting into bed at night without showering. At home or at WDW.

I go in August so I shower prob 2x a day, lol. It's been our experience that every 4-5 days we get new sheets. We usually have 10-14 day stays.
Because it's Aug and so hot I like new towels every day. Don't like coming back and having to use a damp towel.

If you want fresh sheets daily, you should be able to get them. I don't think it's right to have to strip the bed yourself to get them, though. I'd hope that a call to the front desk would be enough to have your requests met.

FTR, I'd appreciate new sheets every few days. Since it's so humid in FL, fresh towels everyday are a must, and a definite vacation only perk.

The problem being if you call the front desk at WDW you are not calling anyone at the resort. You care calling a call center.

We only stay in one resort for about 5-8 days so I don't expect them to be changed during my stay. To be honest I've never even noticed if they were ever changed. We shower at night at WDW. Too sweaty and sticky not to.

They always gave us fresh towels even if we hung up our used ones. I guess they were still damp when they came in and decided to give us fresh ones. Sometimes they took the used ones, sometimes they didn't.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, I am trying to breeze through this thread while I should be working, but are sheets changed after someone checks out of the room?

Really??? Is this a serious question???

Yes they are changed between guests

Yes it is serious. I have heard before that sheets were not changed in between guests. only every fourth day regardless.

I don't need to have my sheets changed every day. I always make the beds before we leave for the day anyway; I gather the trash and put it in one spot and I only request clean towels. If I was doing an extended stay, then i would probably have them changed at least once. I just don't want housekeeping in my room longer than they have to be.

I think that there must be a misunderstanding. Sheets left on beds between guests? I cant see any circumstances that is done. Blankets and bedspreads? That is different.

Why are blankets and bed spreads different? That's gross! Some people throw their luggage on the bed ( which is filthy) and lay on top of the blankets in their dirty clothes and who knows what else? I don't even want to think about it!

I have no knowledge of how Disney housekeeping operates but 15 years ago I worked part time at a local hotel. The hotels guidelines were to change the sheets daily and especially between guests however the housekeepers were taking it upon themselves to not follow the rules. There were many times the sheets were not changed between guests so I agree with the seriousness of your question. Another very common practice they did was with the glasses. Most occasions they would just rinse them out,dry with towel and put a lid on them. They were not taken from the room and washed properly. This was not a low budget hotel either, it was at a large chain where prices then started at 99.00 a night during low season. As a result of the things I have seen during my time of employment there, now whenever I stay at any hotel the first thing I do is request new sheets and will gladly change them out myself if I need to. I also never sleep with the blankets on the beds as no hotel changes them on a consistent basis.

The bold is a complete difference between what the hotel does and what happens.
Can housekeepers break rules? Yes.
Can hotels set policy not to change between guests? No.
No one can seriously believe a hotel would have a policy to do otherwise

I was not commenting on any hotel policy, and no one else was either. You are the first one to mention anything about any policy. I was commenting on what can happen and based on speaking with the housekeepers I'm sure it happens more frequently than people are aware of. The housekeepers were all terminated once management was informed of what was going on but I'm sure they just went to other hotels to carry on their bad practices. There is no excuse for not properly cleaning a room and should never happen however the time constraints that hotels set for having a room turned over is not fair either. If the hotels allowed for more time to clean a room then I think it would eliminate the improper cleanings.
