How Obama Got Elected

What difference does it make how or why he won.
He is our next president and nothing will change that.
Complaining about how he won is pointless at this point.
BTW I didn't vote for him and I'm not thrilled that he won, but it's over and done with.

Any yet Liberals have been complaining about how Bush won for the past 8 years.

Funny how in the eyes of the left, Conservatives "steal" elections and Liberals "win" them.

Something I've always wondered. If the left wing liberal main stream media is so all powerful, why did the Reps take congress in '94 and Bush win in 2000 and 2004? If they are so in the tank for the Dems and have oh so much influence, why did the Reps control congress for 12 years and the White House for 8?

I think if the media was that powerful, we would have just re-elected President Kerry to his second term.

I thought it was the Kool-aid?!?!

Seriously, he won and I'm ready to move on. Back him the best I can and get through these tough times ahead. While I think the media really liked him and all that, it was still up to people to vote. He got more votes. His campaign staff ran a much better race. That's how it all works in America.
Instead of wasting energy on why McCain lost, we should focus on geting through the mess we're in.

I didn't click the link but I have a theory on how he got elected.

More people voted for him than the other guy. :thumbsup2

No kidding. The link points out the sad reason why. Maybe you should click on the link. It might be enlightening.

You should be embarrassed by the cluelessness of your fellow Obama supporter. Or is just winning for the sake of winning the only thing you care about?

And the conservatives should be embarrassed by the number of people who voted for McCain, not for the man himself but because his running mate was "hot" and they "liked her glasses". I heard that one myself at church. From people who really should know better.

I've heard Obama supporters who claimed he would "fix their teeth" and send their son to college, but the people who make good sound bites on the news are not the major reason Obama was elected. Many PP here have stated the real reasons why. The economy and the sense that McCain had become someone they didn't recognize.

Dear unhappy 46.2%,

It's time to let it go. Just try and move on. Why not learn a new hobby between now and Inauguration Day. Take the day off on January 20th and go to a movie or have a spa treatment. Play golf. Have a relaxing lunch. There'll be plenty of time to fuss and fume once he's actually in office.

Sincerely,
The celebratory 52.3%

Sort of like the unhappy people let it go the last 2 times?

As to the OP, doesn't matter, he won, end of discussion.

Bush didn't win in 2000, he was awarded the presidency by the Supreme Court.

He likely didn't win in 2004 either, but it's harder to argue.

Now that is about the scarriest comment I have read in a while.

I'd rather have a clueless voter than a clueless nimwit for a President...or VP...

Most people are clueless ... wow, THAT'S a revelation. But some people do bother to THINK.

I'm neither clueless or uneducated and neither are MOST of the people I choose to hang around with. And they ALL voted for Obama. Maybe some CLUED people think differently... is that a possibility in some people's world.

Man, trying to figure this out is going to fry some people's minds. Look at your own party, maybe you'll find the clues there.

He won, he had more electoral votes than Gore, end of discussion as well.

No no no. We poor, uninformed souls who voted for Obama just don't know that the only place to get FAIR, RELIABLE news is from Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox. Had we tuned into them instead of paying attention to the FACTS, we'd see that Obama is a baby-slaughtering Socialist lunatic. See, if you'd just stop listening to silly tabloid journalism like CNN and MSNBC, and pay attention to the non-sensationalist, level-headed Hannity, you'd see how you had made a BIG mistake voting for Obama. Pffft. I'll bet you read garbage like the Washington Post. No wait. The New York Times. Wall Street Journal. Figures. Brainwashed lemming.

On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama's limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple... the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job.

On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience........

His extreme liberal positions were a plus in my book and one of the reasons I voted for him. It was a much better alternative than the person who was so far right she almost fell off the edge.

As for experience - I only had to listen to the so-called experienced one's words that came out of his mouth "The economy is fundamentally strong" to decide that experience does not equal competence.

But I guess I was just influenced by the media and couldn't think for myself :rotfl2:

This is irony at work.
An article claims the media was biased, yet only Obama voters were polled.

Also, what a pathetically small sample size,

Out of curiosity then, which of McCain's public appearences did you attend?

What's to discuss? Obama won because he got more votes, both the popular vote and the electoral. Then again, you must be implying that the United States are comprised of uneducated automatons incapable of making any intelligent decisions. You wouldn't be saying that now would you?

I just meant to Discuss the website along with the video. Everyone knows that votes are why people win elections, I'm not implying anything, I just thought it was interesting.

Plus I love political discussions.

Because in spite of media bias, most of the country is not radical left or radical right. Most of us are somewhere in the middle. And if you deny media bias in this[election then you are only fooling yourself.;)

We could also ask Why did John McCain lose? I am glad Obama won, He seem like he will do a good job.

There is a bias in all elections. Depending on what source you are watching, hearing or reading...it can come from either side.

I'll also agree with you that most of the country is somewhere in the middle. BOTH parties would benefit if they'd pull their big dumb heads out of the sand and recognize that.
