How noisy are the Boardwalk Inn and Yacht Club?

We are thinking of staying at the Yacht Club or Boardwalk Inn around the holidays but have heard that they are noisy.

The crowds and activities have never been loud enough to bother us in our rooms at all.
The fireworks from Illuminations go off seemingly right over head each night, but other than that it's never been bad.

We stayed at the Beach Club one year and the Boardwalk was having some sort of convention or party or something the first night we were there. Let me tell you, it was LOUD!! We were really annoyed! I don't know how to tell in advance if something like that would be going on, but it went on long into the night and our kids were younger at the time, so I was unhappy that they wouldn't be getting to bed when they normally should, especially with a full park day scheduled for us for the next day. I don't think it would have been too bad at the Yacht Club because of where it is set for most of its rooms, but I'm not sure. This was only one night, and I'm pretty sure it was in a June, and we've stayed at the Beach Club many times since then without it being too loud there, but I have noticed that the Boardwalk does tend to be louder than either the Yacht or Beach Clubs at night, probably because of the clubs at the Boardwalk. I know some people love the Boardwalk, but I do think it can be loud.

I have to break it too you. Disney is like no other vacation you will take. Every hotel is noisy. People get up early, very early 6:00 am to get ready for the parks and go to breakfast, add 1,2,3,4.... kids as well and the room above you could be loud. Also, the parks close late 10,11 at night by the time people get back to the hotel, maybe have a drink or just walk around you could hear showers, and so forth at 11, 12 at night. This is all part of the experience. My DW, DS and DD have stayed at DVC, deluxe moderate nad value they are all loud. My only suggestion is request a top floor room.

That all being said, we love disney and would not vacation anywhere else.

Have a great trip.:cool1:

I know many people swear that the Boardwalk view rooms aren't noisy once you close the balcony door but I don't agree. Have stayed in bv rooms ~ once down by ESPN and once in a deluxe club level room above the candy shop. Views were great and I loved the size of the deluxe room but I still heard the noise from the boardwalk below even with the door shut. If I stay at the BWI I much prefer the standard view rooms overlooking the rose garden courtyard.

IMO the waterview rooms at the YC are so much nicer :) We request marina view and love the views from there. The only 'noise' I ever hear from there is the FB horns! and that doesn't bother me at all.

As far as noise in the hallways goes we've never had a problem at either of those 2 resorts with that ~

We didn't have any problems with noise when we stayed at Yacht Club. We were on the top floor and had a nice view of the pavillion outside our window.

When you say "noisy", what do you mean? Noise from the outside through your patio or balcony? I've never heard that much either at the Yacht Club or the Boardwalk, even with a Boardwalk view (sorry to the PP who said they could hear stuff - we couldn't and trust me, my mother-in-law would have said something about it).

If you mean "noisy" by the sounds from *inside* the resort, well, you cannot control that at all. That's from your neighbors and fellow guests. At the Yacht Club, we were greeted one monring by our neighbor standing at his door yelling up to his wife to see if she had the safe key or not. Then she had to yell back to him. Both times at the Boardwalk, we had rooms at the far end of the ahll so only had one side of neighbors. But that's not saying the Yacht Club is noisy and the Boardwalk is quiet.

We've stayed at the BC many times and never had a problem with noise. We do experience the big booms of the Epcot fireworks but that is it. You shouldn't have a problem:cool1:

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn on the the second floor. It was noisy and a little crazy outside in June. The pool was always packed and there was never a place to sit as all the seats were taken. But the staff was great and the rooms were nice, walls weren't thin so you can't hear the person in the room next to you. We could hear the boom of the fireworks, but by that point our kids would be passed out and nothing would be able to wake them up. Overall, if convience to the parks is something that you are looking for, then the BW or the BC would be a good fit. :hippie:

We stayed at the YC and had a room overlooking the lake and we did not hear any excessive noise at all. I think that the Boardwalk may have the most noise because you have all the stores and restaruants etc along the boardwalk area.

We've stayed at the YC many times and never had a problem with noice. Last december we overlooked the quiet pool and it was quiet. The time before we overlooked SAB and that was quiet when the sliding glass door was closed. The only time it was even remotly noisy was when we had the door open during the middle of the day and the pool was crowded.

Stayed at the Boardwalk in a one bedroom villa overlooking the boardwalk and it was not a good experience. We had a two year old with us and we had the very devil of a time getting that poor baby to sleep.

Way too much noise came up from the boardwalk.

The fireworks, and the ferry horns were no problem.

Never had a bit of noise bother us at the Beach Club. (Villas or resort proper).

The YC is the quietest resort that we have stayed at and we have stayed at almost all the deluxe resorts. We had the quiet pool and spa to ourselves for 4 days. The lobby was always empty and even tho we were on the ground floor you could not hear any walking traffic or maid carts.

ok, now I'm a little freaked out about the fireworks noise. I was planning on staying at either YC or BC but never even thought about the noise from the fireworks every night. We'll be staying the last week of August. What time do the fireworks go off? How long does it last? Is it so loud that it would wake you up out of your sleep? I dont' care, but it will be just me and DD4 and we will be in bed by nine every night...she is not so crazy about those big "booms"....

Illuminations is at 9:00 pm and lasts up to 20 minutes or so. Not all that time is devoted to fireworks, so there are only some periods with booms. (Sounds like thunder). Fantasmic and Wishes go off at different times (schedule should be available to you). You may be able to hear muffled booms from those shows.

actually, we find those 2 some of the quietest on property. our experiences have been quite the opposite at the BC, however ~ pool, lobby, & hallways were very noisy (one of the few resorts we had trouble sleeping in due to excessive noise).

i see others have had the opposite experience ~ i guess it all depends :confused3
