How necessary is a day-by-day ressie 4 BWV

for the early part of December? I'd like to book a Boardwalk view studio. Is it really necessary to call day-by-day? Sounds like a PITA. I thought about just calling at the 11 month mark on my checkout date then doing a day-by-day for the following week if there's nothing available. Just wondering how quickly that view fills up. I know early Dec is a popular DVC time.

Yes you do as it's a hard line booking rather than a request now. BTW, standard view is just as difficult. And the first half of Dec is a pretty high demand time for DVC though it's fairly low for WDW in general.
 

Just to affirm Dean's advice: I called last year at 11 months from checkout for 2 - 1 bedroom BW view rooms the first week of December. I had to waitlist to get all of the days for 1 room and never did get all of the days for the other. Call day by day.

It really isn't that big of a pain. The first day is longer because they have to setup the reservation (just like anytime you make a reservation), but after that they just pull up the reservation and you're done in 30 seconds. They will ask for your final checkout date, so as soon as they enter your member #, they know why you are calling.

I'll be with you - I'm calling for a boardwalk view studio 12/1 - 12/7.
 
I just did day by day for Thanksgiving next year. It was very easy.
 
I just did day by day for late October during food and wine at my 11 month window. My reservation was for 12 nights, so it became a daily thing. I was calling because I wanted the hard to get standard view for our studio to save points. I got my reservation no problem and I even had to call on Black Friday....yikes, and I almost forgot.
