Hi everyone,

How much do you usually budget for a Disney holiday?

We are going for two weeks at the end of February. 2-adults.

With our airport hotel and parking, our flight and Orlando hotel
and car rental and insurance, tickets, food and spending money
I figure it will cost us about 5800.00 Canadian $.

Does this sound like a good amount.

Thanks for your input.

Hi ~ our 2001 trip cost about $7500 CDN (10days) and the 2002 trip (11 days) cost about $7300. The exchange was dreadful for both trips. So $5800 seems reasonable. It adds up doesn't it. S

Sounds like a pretty accurate amount to me.

Our trips have ranged from a week to 3 weeks and have cost us in the neighbourhood of 3000 to 11000 to take the most expensive was our 3 week honeymoon in Feb of 98. our trips now cost much less with the purchase of our DVC membership we also get to stay in much larger deluxe home away from home resorts.

My wife and I (no kids) are going down the first 2 weeks in Feb. 10 out of the 14 days will be at Disney. Here is our break down of budget in Canadian dollars for both of us:

Flights $834 (out of Halifax)
Car Rental $377 (14 days; National; all taxes in)
Gas/Tolls $ 50
Disney package $1554(Dream maker package with Canadian at par deal; Pop Century; 9 nights/10 day UPH; 2 Adults)
Food $1050
Shopping $400
Taxi in Canada $100
Other $200 (dog sitting, snow removal, etc)
-----------------------------------------
Total $4565

I have found that the current Canadian at par deal this is saving us about $200 over last year's 7 day hopper canadian deal with room codes for a similar duration. The exchange rate this year is part of saving...... Disney rate of .69 vs today's rate of .78 helps a bit)

Thanks everyone,

It sounds like there are some very differing amounts.
I guess it depends on how long you are staying and what
exactly you are doing. I guess I am somewhere in the middle.

Thanks again.

I've always heard to count on a thousand a day for a family of four (2 adults/2kids) for airfares, hotels, transportation, passes, food, spending money etc. So that's about $7000. for two. But without kids, it should be wayyyyyyy cheaper and much easier to stick to a budget lol. With the help of the DIS budget boards, we (4) spent about $5800 for 10 days. So your figures seem quite reasonable. It all depends on your spending habits lol.
Have fun!!:sunny:
