How much would you spend on a princess outfit?

Just curious. Hope this kind of post is legal.

Wife has been making costumes for years and thought that it would be interesting to make little princess outfits for girls going to WDW. I am telling her that no one is willing to pay for that kind of customized work. Am I wrong? How much would you spend on a princess outfit for your little girl to wear to a character dining?

You would be amazed at what some will pay for a custom Disney dress!! Just check on ebay and you can get an idea. It really depends on the detail, custom work, ect..
I just had 2 pairs of custom princess overalls made for my 2 youngest DD's to go on our trip and LOVE them. It was soo worth paying someone to do something special for your own little ones

For us probably 200-250 would be the max. I would love to find a princess outfit for DD that would actually be pretty and comfortable.

It would depend on the quality. We just spent $50+ on an Ariel costume that is really just your Wal-mart quality dress. It's supposed to be part of the "deluxe" line, but it's nowhere near as nice as DD's deluxe Cinderella or Snow White dresses. Still, dd is in "love" with Ariel; and we wanted to get something that would really please her for her 3rd birthday.

You should tell your wife to look into ebay. I make handpainted overalls and also Minnie and Disney Princess t-dresses and sell them on ebay and 90% of my customers are for people going to Disney. It really is a special purchase and from what I have heard (I have been to Disneyland many times, but April will be our first Disney World Trip), it is a great way to get extra attention at Character meals. When you pay an arm and a leg for the Character Meal, you should get all the attention in the world!
