how much money will i spend for three days at DW? it is me and my ds-4. the hotel and tickets are already paid for. thanks

Well, that could vary A LOT...lol It depends in part on what you want to eat and where. Do you think you will eat three meals each day? Are you happy with counter service (i.e. fast foods), or do you want sit-down meals or buffets, or character meals -- which would probably be great for a 4year old. If you know the "where" part, you can check the menu prices here: http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

Then I guess you would need to figure on snacks (also see menus), tips, and souvenirs. How much do you like to shop? You could probably budget whatever amount works for you, then limit your DS to that amount.

I think this is probably very individual depending on your family's likes and dislikes and personal habits. I wanted to make sure that our first trip was "worry free" about money, so I (be ready for some planning OCD behavior) went to WDWIG (they have menus and prices), identified the places we would eat and also "likely" meals. For instance, for my 16 yr old, if a place has chicken strips she WILL order those. I included drinks and everything. I then added it up, added tax and then tip (I figured 20% in hopes that ALL our service will be great). Well, now that I have made a short story long, I have a very detailed food budget and since this was the kids Christmas gift I figured in 100 each for purchases. For us, that was the best way not only to plan, but to insure we had enough $$ saved.

Have fun planning...I had as much fun planning meals as I did everything else!

It varies by your personal taste and desires... I've gone to WDW at spent very little a day and I've also gone and spent a ton. We've had fun on as little as $60 a day for the two of us. With that we had lunch at Liberty Tavern and a counter service dinner and split a Turkey Leg and got drinks. We don't eat much in the parks, we're too excited and busy most of the time to think about eating. I agree with everyone else to look over the menus and see what you'll need that way, we average about $15-$16 dollars a piece for lunch and $11-13 for quick dinner... we don't buy too many "prizes" because we visit often, but that is a consideration as well. I think the coolest "prize" as we like to call them is Mickey Ears which will run you between $7-$10 each and they put yor name on them, shirts run $20 and up, Hats $10 and up... and so on...
Feel free to ask any specifics

We usually budget 250.00 a day. That is for my husband, me our 6 year old and 3 year old twins. I think with just 2 of you, you could do it for under 75.00 if you are careful.

My DS9 and I can do alot on $100.00 a day and he is a very healthy eater. I would say you will be fine on $60-$75.

Have fun. It is a great place for a single parent family.
