How much weight do you gain on DDP?

Silly.... there aren't any calories in vacation/holiday food! :cool1:

I'm reading the best desserts as I eat yogurt and lowfat cereal. There is plenty of time to undue the damage after the DDP. I'm pretty sure creme brulee is not on Bob Greene's best life diet.

Actually, I've losted weight the last two trips and I've been on the dining plan for both!! It must be from all the walking. :thumbsup2

That's absolutely correct. And if you break cookies into small pieces before you put them in your mouth, it causes the calories to leak out before they are consumed.

Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :rolleyes1

I've decided that what happens in Disney, stays in Disney;)

I'm working hard to lose weight before my Disney Wedding and I hope to lose a little extra so that if I happen to gain a few pounds with the DDP, then so be it. However I ver much doubt I will, as with all the walking and the heat, I never tend to put weight on. I only ever gain weight in cold climates, like the UK:sad2:

I am intersted in the replies for this as we have the Dining Plan booked for this August - and I am worried about putting on weight due to all the extra food - and I do like desserts etc - so don't think I have the willpower to say no when it is included in the plan. I have lost 53lbs to date from October - so really keen not to undo my good work so far!!

When we last went to Disney I did loose weight due to all the walking but we tended to eat at CS places as not on the dining plan.:)

Sadly, I am one of those that always gains weight while on vacation at WDW, no matter how much walking I do...it happens every time. :confused3

November '04 trip, I gained 7 pounds! Yep, that much. However, we were on a Disney Cruise the first 4 days of that trip...so that may be why. LOL

January '06 trip, I gained 4 pounds. We were there for 10 days.

January '07 trip, I gained 5 pounds. We were there for 2 weeks, so I guess that's not too bad. I am working hard to loose those 5 pounds.

I think most of my problem is that I eat really well while at home. I don't drink sodas and I drink lots of water. While at WDW, I don't get all that water in and I drink sodas more than I should. Also it doesn't help that when I go to WDW...I eat a ton! The dining plan is a weakness for me. I can't resist those desserts! ;)

Our next trip is in June. I am hoping that since it is going to be hot, I won't gain anything this trip. My dh is one of those that never gains a pound on our vacations. I gain enough for the both of us. Then he has to hear me complain once we get home until I loose it all. :lmao:

I gained 3 pounds last March...but I think a lot of it was water weight. I am on WW and when I weighed in the morning after we got back I was up 3 pounds. The next weekend after getting back on track and increasing water in take I was down 8 pounds. Tells me a LOT of it was water weight.

I ate a WW muffin with fruit for breakfast, ate a healthy meal and had one meal that I allowed myself to splurge a little. I plan on doing the same thing when we are there from 3/8 to 3/17.

I gained 4 lbs. on DDP even with the heat and humidity and all day touring. i'm a very fast paced person so I'm surprised I gained at all. Not used to eating so much I guess :confused3 . I did not have appetizers and desserts with every meal. it was too hot in September to eat too much and walk around. We did have a few:mickeybar and dessert a few times throughout the week. The worst part is I still have to lose those lbs. before summer gets here.;)

I love the DDP, but it is really easy to gain weight using it. On our last trip I didn't gain any weight, but I also ran the marathon that weekend, so I'm sure that helped. But on our next trip in Sept, I won't be running (unless it's for a bus!) My plan is to hit the CS restaraunts that offer salads and sandwhiches vs. burgers and fries. And I'll give the dessert to my husband and kids to fight over. As for TS, I'll order a salad as my appetizer and get sorbet or ice cream for dessert and share with the kids. If I can avoid splurges at meals, then I can treat myself to churros and Dole Whips as my snack options! That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!

On our last trip we tried the DDP for the first time, and I gained 9 lbs in 11 days!!! :scared1: Thankfully, 4 of that came of in the first 3 days of being back home and eating normally!

Don't worry too much about those Dole Whips. On the Precision Foods website (the Dole Whip manufacturers) it says that Dole Whip is 80 calories for a 1/2 cup serving, 0 calories from fat :thumbsup2

Oh good! Now it will only taste like I'm gaining 3 lbs. with each one!

Good to know! I couldn't finish my Dole pineapple float in October. I almost went into sugar-shock (I don't have diabetes, but I think I'm tetering on the borderline for it) and had to let my kids finish it for me. The juice must have been the culprit, since the ice cream doesn't sound too bad. Next trip, I will just get a Dole Whip and not a float.

This is a great thread, by the way! My office is doing a version of The Biggest Loser, and I just realized the final weigh-in is a week or two AFTER we get back from WDW (and yes, we'll be on the DDP). :scared1: For now, my plan of attack is to get down to a couple of pounds below my goal weight BEFORE the trip so I can be exactly where I want to be when we get back.

I've decided that what happens in Disney, stays in Disney;)

AMEN to that!

I am usually good for putting on about 3-4 lbs and DH can add 5-7. Even with all the walking and drinking water...those table & CS desserts along with my snack credits add the calories! We never worry about it until we get home. Vacation is all about the indulgence!

My future DH and I will be there for our honeymoon in May/June. We both definately plan on taking full advantage of the DDP. We both love good food (it seriously took me 3 weeks of planning to pick my 5 TS meals and don't even get me started on CS or snacks!). The good thing is for lunches I actually prefer salads and grilled chicken, I'm not much of a burger and fry kind of gal.....although I have heard of some great "loaded" fries I may have to try in Epcot. The way I look at it is we have paid big bucks for the DDP, we are not going to deprive ourselves just for the sake of not gaining a pound. You can always lose it when you get back!

I've been worried about this myself b/c my DH and I are dieting right now and so far I've lost 10 1/2 lbs and DH has lost 14 lbs. We're doing to DDP in May when we go and I'm a little concerned about the potential weight gain while on the plan. I'm trying to go with the mentality of "It's vacation", but after all this hard work, i'd hate to overindulge and gain. :sad2:

I guess I just have to go with the flow and drink lots of water (although I'll be in the bathroom every 15 mins:laughing: ) and hope that all the walking we'll be doing will balance out all the wonderful food we're going to be eating. Wishful thinking anyway!!!!:wizard:

For a 9 day stay I gained 6 pounds , on our lat 4 day stay 0. It did come right off in a week or two. Can't wait to see what I gain on our next 10 day trip with dining. It is hard to beleive with all the walking and swimming that I would gain anything. We walk till our feet feel like they are going to fall off plus do the water parks, climbing all those steps. :confused3

I think I gained about 5 lbs over the week with all the walking. I think we made the mistake of eating our big meal at night, and we should have done it at midday so we had more time to walk it off. It's so hard to walk forever after eating all the food! They give you sooooo much with the sit down credit.
