How much weight do you gain at Disney?

I've never really weighed myself, but I eat like a piggy when I go, especially on the DDP, and I've never noticed anything significant. My clothes fit the same and everything. However, when I go this time, I will have been on a diet for almost a year, so I'm wondering if switching from lean protein like salmon and white meat chicken/veggies/salads/fruits to high calorie, high sugar foods will make me gain weight faster... Oh well, it's worth it! We'll be there for 1 week and I plan to indulge every single day of it! :lmao:

:woohoo: Right there with ya. Bring on the sugar! and Carbs for me !

Just till I get back from vacation, I like the new smaller me ! Almost back to pre-baby weight.

Hey that's actually a question I have!:

Has anyone ever gone to WDW (especially using the DDP) after being on a diet and noticed they gained an especially large amount due to the fact that they went to eating "clean" foods to eating very heavy, fatty foods? I'm worried that will happen to me! I hope not though! :confused3

Some of it depends on the weather too. When it is super hot, just not as hungry

Have fun and enjoy the trip :cool1:

I eat like a pig but run like a ferret!!!:lmao: :lmao: Seriously, by the time I am done doing all the parks and then swimming with my kids for at least 3 or 4hours everyday.....I am worn out and there is no way fat is sticking to these bones...lol.

the way I look at it is this: Your on vacation, EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT AND ENJOY!! At least that's my motto!!! LOL...that way, when you get home, back to the daily grind, back to the gym.....Eating is one of my fav things to do on vacation!!! It's part of the whole experience!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I know, some people would think we are sad for putting so much time into where we are eating, ADRs, etc....but at Disney, its all part of it. My mom was shocked last year when she went. She only eats counter service, never TS, it was a whole new thing for her.

Who else but us Dis'ers plan our whole vacation including all meals and snacks.;)

I know, really! Even my mom is shocked I'm putting so much time into it! But, it's true, dining is a huge part of the WDW package! Just like the rides and shows, if you don't do some planning, you can miss some wonderful experiences!

For Dh and I, eating is a huge part of our WDW experience and I usually put on 2-3 lbs. At home I exercise 6 days a week and eat very healthy, so even with all the walking at WDW, I think that's why I put on weight. However, I take it off very quickly, so I just enjoy while I'm there.

I always gain some weight but that is because I usually eat very healthy and also workout 5 times per week at the gym. I am already so active that walking around disney is not a workout for me. I am also used to standing all day since I teach pre-k. I would think though if people do not normally eat very healthy or do not exercise very much they would probably break even or even loose weight.

I eat what I want but usually only eat a few bites of dessert and stick to mostly water and wine of course. I always loose the weight pretty quickly after I return home.

Ditto here. I lost 120 lbs about 5 yrs ago and got to the ideal weight for my height :thumbsup2 At home, I eat very healthy and exercise regularly. Though we walked tons and tons in Disney and I didn't gorge myself on the DDP, I'm not accustomed to eating rich food/desserts every day so I gained about 4lbs :( :( Gonna be even more careful this August!!! :goodvibes

Yes-that happened to me-see my above post

I am almost always the same weight or a couple pounds lighter when we come back. I never watch what I eat while I'm at Disney, I LOVe to dine out and try all the yummy snacks, but I find that with all the walking and sweating and drinking water by the gallons----that it just about equals out or even takes a couple lbs. off.

:woohoo:

I usually gain 1 lb per day when in Disney. I exercise a lot at home so all the walking really doesn't measure up to what I would normally do...plus walking while drinking a Margarita or eating a Mickey Bar doesn't really count, does it? ;)

I'm just back from a 4 night/5 day trip to Disney and I gained 4 lbs. Now I need to get off the Dis and back on the treadmill. :thumbsup2

Dh and I usually eat pretty healthy. I am on WW right now and of course that stays at home when on the DDP!

I will warn all you dieters to break into the Disney diet slowly. We usually have a couple 'bad' meals before we leave. You can get a little sick from a big switch in diet and I would rather spend bathroom time at home than at Disney.

Last time I didn't get the DDP and so I ate the cheapest junk I could find (mostly burgers and similarly fried nasties). I lost 2 lbs in the 8 days I was there.

This time I'm getting the DDP and plan to eat much better food, which I doubt will cause any weight gain.

Okay well this is an embarassing story but I know all y'all on here are like family so I'm hoping no one laughs! :flower3: I'm a petite woman and all through high school, I weight 87-90 lbs. no matter how much I ate. I eat normal and sometimes even more than normal on bad days :rotfl: I am almost done with my Associates Degree so I've been in college awhile now. Last year was our first year trying the Dining Plan. I loved eating appetizer, main course, and dessert every dinner! When we came home, I weight myself-finally my weight has finally started to catch up with me! I weighed 101 lbs. I have gained 3 more lbs. since then! My mom told me that I'm the only one she knows that dances when she gets off the scale!:rotfl:

Last time we were there We were at the parks all day, and I gained 6 pounds in 4 days. Dang that was alot of foood on the mealplan. I am probally gonna gain 10 this year on our 7 day trip. Oh well, I have never been one to turn down good food (especially when it is already paid for).

with the amount of walking you do it shouldnt be too much..im about the same as when i went..

Ditto here!

I do indulge during my trips because how can you not! But with all the walking in the parks and the sometimes running to catch a bus I burn it all off!!

I usually come back even. I don't seem to gain, and I don't lose. I do indulge more than usual, and all the walking seems to even it out!
