I have lost 12 pounds so far and I have to say, I don't notice a thing. My clothes still fit the same and I don't think I look any different. I am going to start working out tomorrow so hopfully that will help me see a difference. At what loss did you start noticing a difference?

For me, it was about 10-15 pounds that other people really noticed. I've lost 40 now! I saw someone last week that I hadn't seen in a year and the first thing he said was that I looked great. I saw someone else the other day and they noticed. It changes where people notice it. I have a client that I saw 2 weeks ago and she noticed it in my face so I guess it's moving around. I've found the more I lose that the sizes go down quicker. I wasn't in size 14 jeans for more than a week when I had do get 12s. Now I have some 10s that are hanging on me and other 10s that are tight.

Keep up the good work! It may seem like it's taking forever and then WHOOSH you wonder where it all went!

Check out the BL challenge on here if you haven't already! It's a group of great people who are all very inspiring. This is my 2nd challenge and I finished 2nd last time around. I'm down to my last 10-15 pounds so it's a little harder now but it's so worth it!

Working out will make all the difference in the world for you. :goodvibes I started a vigorous exercise routine at the beginning of the year and have only lost about 4 lbs (I am within my healthy weight range, but want to lose 10lbs), but I have lost several inches and toned up everywhere. It has made a huge difference, even if the scale doesn't really show it. I can wear pants that used to be tight, and my swimsuits no longer make me want to cry! :lmao:

I'm having the opposite issue. I haven't lost much weight-but I'm noticing it. I have noticed a difference in the way my clothing fits, people have commented that I look like I'm losing weight....yet the scale is not moving a whole heck of a lot. :confused3

Depends on you. For me it was the 15-20 lb mark originally. Then I dropped another 30 and didn't really look much different. The next 10 made a world of difference then. I think your body just has different points that make a more noticable difference. I ended up 95 lbs total loss and it took about 9-10 months for the first 85 and then another year for the last 10.

When I dropped weight in my face is when everyone else noticed the most.

For me it isn't as much about the weight on the scale as it is about the exercise and inches. I haven't lost much yet on the scale (just started last week) but have already lost inches in my hips, waist, and chest. I notice a difference in my clothes from the exercise alone.

Are you exercising or just dieting?

I was supposed to start working out yesterday but that did not work out. I will try again today. And I am doing weight watchers as well. It is hard to find time with a 6 year old and a 4 month old but I just need to make the time.

I know where you're coming from! I have lost almost 30lbs and I'm still struggling to see a major change in my clothes. I can still wear most of what I was wearing before, and they don't feel obnoxiously loose. Sadly, I just tried on some of my summer clothes (which I was wearing when I started on WW!) and they don't seem any looser either.

I think I have lost an inch in my waist. An inch after 30lbs! That hardly seems worth it!

But I have had co-workers mention that my pants seem looser. I think it's harder for us to see than for others. I also think my face is thinning out, and my wedding ring fits much better. I think I tend to lose weight from the top down, so that could explain why my pants don't seem that different.

I also have 82 pounds to lose total, so for me to lose 30 pounds is going to look like less of a change than for someone who started with only 30 pounds to lose.

Just hang in there and keep it up! It's gotta show sometime, right?

I agree with Amy8888 that it depends in part on how much weight you have to lose. I think it also depends on how tall you are and what type of bone structure you have. I am in the process of losing right around/right under 100 pounds. I'm 5'9" tall and have a medium bone structure. I've lost 20 pounds so far and a couple people are just starting to notice. If I were 5'6" tall with a thin bone structure and with 25 pounds to lose, I think it would have been noticeable long before!

Well I am 5'2" and have an athletic build, my husband tells me I have the perfect frame to be a weightlifter. Anyway over the past 6 months I have lost 32 lbs, my goal is to lose 40, it was about when I lost around 20lbs a few people have noticed but at my current 32lbs several people have commented on it. I went down several sizes in my pants, from a 14 to a 6 but only from a large to a medium in my tops.

same problem  even when i lost around 15 pounds last summer, i didn't really notice a difference. Which did not help when i was gaining the weight back - i didn't realize it was happening until i stepped on a scale months later.

I'm having the opposite issue. I haven't lost much weight-but I'm noticing it. I have noticed a difference in the way my clothing fits, people have commented that I look like I'm losing weight....yet the scale is not moving a whole heck of a lot. :confused3

working out changes your body more than diet does - lean muscle mass starts to build. It weighs a little more than fat does, but it looks different, which is why you're noticing physical differences but the scale isn't changing. i actually GAINED 2 pounds when i first started running, but i could feel the muscles in my legs changing. Now i've actually started to lose some of the weight - whew!!

All my clothes used to be strechy and it was a good 20-30 till I could tell.

KEEP up the Good work!
