how much WDW fun can you have in 4 days? may '07 - w/ pics & video! FINISHED!!!

I am all caught up!!! I was here in the very beginning of this great trip report and then got sidetracked, but now I am back, have a little more free time, and am loving it! I'm sad that it's your last day! Can't wait to read more. And I can't wait until we go in August. I will definitely take your advice and let things happen. The best laid plans...........as the saying goes. :)

Whew! Finally caught up.....you have done a wonderful job and will be sad when the report comes to a close.........

sounds like you really had great timing for your rides...can't wait for the rest

Your parade pics are great! :thumbsup2

Again, another great installment. You have a wonderful sense of humor and your report is fun to read! :goodvibes

Hey! Am I first? :) Great installment punkin! I  the Magic Kingdom. :cloud9: Forgot to tell you last time, I'm a fellow fan of saurkraut! Yummy! ;) I so wish you had pics of the potential "skat girl"! I wanna know if it was her. Let's just say it was, k?

sure.....we can both just tell everyone that i met scat girl on the jungle cruise! why don't you just say you did too when you guys went? and i love saurkraut too! DH HATES the way it smells, so i try not to eat it around him and it's a treat if i get it. i guess he figured since we were on vacation he'd be nice and let me have some. ;)

Another great installment! Love the pictures! :goodvibes

thanks!!! i can't wait for your next installment!

The picture of the dole whip float just made me drool all over my keyboard! I'm jealous that you got to see the stepsisters! I wanted to see them so they could embarass my very embarassable 13yr old son. But we didn't have any luck.
I must make a confession.........................i've fed the birds before!!!!:scared1: Now before anyone flings duck poop at me it was on my first visit before I realized the deal with the duck mafia. How many hail Walt's must I do for my penance?

i will forgive you for feeding the ducks.....as long as you realize your mistake and never do it again, you're good! no duck poop coming your way from my direction! i didn't realize the wicked stepmother and stepsisters were so elusive! i got lots of comments about them and how rare they are. if i would've known, i would've waited to get their autographs, but i just took the their picture. maybe you'll have better luck next time!

So sad about the scaffolding at the Swiss Family Treehouse. I love that one! After my first WDW trip, I was convinced that i would build one someday.

 wouldn't it be cool to have one in your back yard?

Yay, you're back with more! :) I love the stepsisters too! I hope we see them on our next trip. And that's too bad about the mother. It bothers me too when parents talk to their children like that. :(

i know! i just didn't understand such a negative reaction. i totally get that you want to protect your kids from all the wierdos out there, but she could see where they were, probably even reach out and touch them. i just didn't get it! :confused3

Still reading and still loving it. I'm jealous now that you got your pics with Tink. I asked to PhotoPass CMs at the MK and they told us they couldn't do it. I gave up after that....

my best friend went in june and her 6-year-old wanted pics with tink after seeing mine. she asked the first photopass CM they saw at MK about it and he said they weren't doing them that day. yet later on a different CM told megan (the little girl) to hold out her hands for the picture and act surprised. when they looked at the pics online, there was tink. weird!

Loving it. So sweet of you to get autographs for that girl! I am jealous you got to see the step sisters, we kept missing that, kids would have loved that. I second you on why are parents so mean at Disney,we'd see parents going nuts on kids for no reason and we'd just look at eachother, smile and say "happiest place on earth. . .. right !?!" Nice of you to offer up your parade spots, we did the same for Spectro to a little boy but his parents actually let him sit. LOVING your photo's. That Scat Girl is funny, so you really think it was her? Hope she was better as a skipper!!!!
Lesley

yeah, the little girl i got ariel's autograph for was thrilled! she said to her mom, "do you really think she knows we're coming to meet her?" and her mom said, "megan, i told you that dawn told her and gave her our address and i guess she wanted to let you know she was excited to meet you!" so cute! and i'm not positive our skipper was scat girl, but for some reason she just reminds me of her! our skipper had the same body shape as scat girl and she wore glasses. the only difference was that she was blonde, but anybody can color their hair. i don't remember what her face looked like though!

Great installment, Punkin! I just love that you take the time to add all of your pictures. I know it can be a pain to upload them all so thank you!

I have never seen or heard of the evil stepmother and stepsisters being out and about in the MK. And they look wonderful! Dead on!

Glad you got a Dole Whip. It looks cool and refreshing. I never got mine last trip and I am on a mission in September.

Can't wait to hear about Prince Phillip's boyfriend (or freaky stalker)....one or the other?!

RE: borg...It's that we are alike in that respect....in this case liking sauerkraut! It's totally a DIS-ism that I picked up here on the TR board.

gotcha on the borg! thanks for explaining that one. i had no clue! and as far as the stepmom and stepsisters, i didn't realize they were so rare. had i known i would've gotten autographs and better pics! prince phillip's BF is comin up shortly!

Great trip report. I am loving all the pics.

When are you going back? Your ticker has the same amount left as mine. We are going Sept 22-29 and staying at the POFQ and WL. Maybe we'll see ya there.

thanks! i'm actually going back for a very short trip with a good friend of mine for her 30th birthday on september 21st. we're only staying friday, saturday and sunday nights though and we're leaving monday afternoon to come home. we're staying at OKW with a very sweet DIS friend of mine, eventer98, who rocks the house since she's letting us bunk with her! i'll probably do a mini TR for that....if so i'll post the link in my siggie when i get it up and going.

Love the Tink photos and you in your Tink shirt too :goodvibes I really want to try a Dole Whip and I love Philarmagic too the best 4D show IMHO :) How weird with those parents you and Ray must have looked scary or something :rotfl2:

that's what i thought, too! do we look like child molesters???? although with doing my job (court reporting) you do see that a lot of psychos do look normal! so i can understand the concern. just knowing that she could see her kids if they stood in front of us and that there was no way we can snatch them and take off (we were watching a roped-off parade), i didn't understand what her problem was. who knows??? by the way, i haven't seen you on the peeps board lately. we miss you!

Another great installment and awesome pics!!

Poo on those nasty, ungrateful parents.

BTW I too loved the swiss family treehouse when I was a little girl, missed it in Nov. when we were there, but I hope it has reopened in Sept.

You have me intrigued about the prince phillip boyfriend.

i missed the treehouse, too! not that it's all that exciting, but i have fond memories of it as a kid. we're going back in september, too, so i hope it's open then!

I think that 99.9% of parents would have really appreciated you giving space to kids who can't see. Sorry you ran across a grump!

Sad the report is drawing to a close

i'm sad, too! the good news is i *may* start another one for my mini trip in september. we shall see. not that you guys live for me writing a TR, but it helps me deal with my disney OCD! :rotfl:

Great installment! You really did come across more than your share of grouchy families, didn't you? Mmmm, can't wait to try a Dole Whip! Love the pictures, thanks for posting them!

Denise

i guess you run into grouches everywhere you go.....even the happiest place on earth! but it didn't bother us. i just told her what i thought about her reaction and then got happy again! :lmao:

Nice parade pictures. I'm sure those little kids who got to ride in the parade and have the castle stay will never forget that experience!

It will be my turn for a Dole Whip very soon!

That was very sweet for you guys to offer the good parade spot to the kids, even if the mom didn't appreciate it. You never know how people view things in this world today, but you did a nice thing.

yeah, i did think about the fact that you can't be too careful when it comes to perverts and your kids. i'm a court reporter and i see really disturbing things all the time. but she could have reached out and touched her kids if she wanted - that's how close they were.....not like they were across the street or something. i just didn't get her reaction!?! and i so envy the people who got the castle stay. what a dream come true!!!

another great installment. I am really enjoying your pictures.

thank you!!! :goodvibes

Ha ha! You're just like me. Anytime anybody tells me they are going to WDW, I tell them "you suck" or "no fair". Even though I know I'm going every July! Are the Step-Mother and Ugly Step-Sisters from Cinderella new? I don't remember ever seeing them!

i don't know if they're new or not. i do know that a lot of people here have told me that it's really cool that i got to see them, so i think they're rare. i went to an autograph website that i frequent (http://home.att.net/~disneysue/characters/wdw/disneycharacters.html) and it says that they're all three ridicously rare. i wish i would've known!!!! i would've gotten autographs and better pics. goes to show you you can never do too much research!

Wonderful job on the trip reporting:cool1: .........love the pictures:love:
Now back to :surfweb:

thanks!!!!! :)

I can't believe how behind I was on your trip report! I just now read about the dinner at Narcosse. Wow. So many surprises! How sweet. ANd this is how dumb I am - I call myself a disney freak, but I had no clue you could see the fireworks from there!
Ariel is my favorite and I hope sooo much that we get a good one in September. None of the face characters ever seem to have a lot of personality (except for one really cool Cinderella in Epcot once). We're taking a 2year old who loves Ariel as much as I do. I hope we get great interaction!
I don't think we'll be at any of the same places at the same time in September - but I think I might have to drop in for a few minutes of the O'hana peep meet just to see if you are REALLY as sweet and fun as you seem. ;)

You got leota with her eyes open! Wow!

I love Casey's hot dogs! Yum! and pretty cheap, for WDW.
We share the bird phobia, but for some reason ducks don't freak me out. Maybe because they don't walk like other birds.
Oh yeah - the tiki room birds don't freak me out either.

Thanks so much for your report. I love it!

please do come by 'ohana's! i wanna meet you, too! i have been reading a lot of TRs where people have encountered really great ariels, so maybe you'll have some good luck. are you doing a TR?

A new installment! Yeah!!:cheer2:

Loved it! One of my very favorite attractions is Philharmagic...I just love it! On our first trip it was one of the first things we did and we were all just oohhing and aahhing thoughout. Love your pictures in the 3D glasses.:cool2:

I really hope to see the wicked step sisters and mother on our trip. They look like a hoot. Love those crazy characters!

I must admit that I am drooling on the keyboard after seeing picture of the DoleWhip...yum!

I too am very interested in hearing about Prince Phillip's beau:eek: :scratchin

TTFN...Darlene

i loved philharmagic too! we were both so pleasantly surprised that it was such a good show! just so you know, we saw the wicked family members right behind the castle near tinker bell's treasures right around 2:15, if that helps. hope you get to see them!

I finally got caught up on your TR today too. I cant believe that mom! Who would want their kids to not be able to see the parade they had been waiting all that time for? Crazy. I hope thiey whined and complained about it and made her miserable:rotfl:

I love all your pics.....keep them coming! Makes me feel like I am there with you!

thanks! i can't believe that mom, either! what a grouch!!!!

I think we both could write a book about the weirdos at WDW!! ;)

no doubt!!!

thanks for returning....i'm glad you're back! i'm sad it's almost over, too! :sad1:

Whew! Finally caught up.....you have done a wonderful job and will be sad when the report comes to a close.........

thanks! me, too!

sounds like you really had great timing for your rides...can't wait for the rest

yep, we did.....amazing!

Your parade pics are great! :thumbsup2

Again, another great installment. You have a wonderful sense of humor and your report is fun to read! :goodvibes

thank you.....such a sweet compliments!!!

quick note that i need to make before my next installment

i totally forgot to mention this in the entire TR!!! i was reading eventer's TR and she was talking about how they got so much attention from the CMs for their "just married" buttons and it reminded me that i haven't mentioned that at all in my TR....duh! :upsidedow our entire trip every time we turned around a CM was telling us, "happy anniversary" or "congratulations". at first we kind of got a kick out of it and just said thank you and laughed. by the end of the trip we had it down and we were saying, "thank you" in unison without even thinking about it! where else can you get that much attention for wearing a button???? disney rocks!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

now on to the TR.......

------------------------------------------------------------------------

after the parade DH wanted to take a ride on the liberty square riverboat. so we fought our way through the crowd that was dispersing from the parade and hopped on board. we didn't wait more than 5 minutes to board. it was relaxing, but kinda boring IMO. that ride is wayyyyyyy too long. next time we'll definitely skip it. we felt like we wasted a good bit of time on this! here's DH on the boat ride.....

131.jpg

after that we had some time to kill before the 4:40 "dream along with mickey" show in front of the castle that we were shooting for, so we decided to head over to tomorrowland since we hadn't been there that day.

132.jpg

we definitely wanted to ride space mountain again. the wait was only 10 minutes, so we hopped in line. another great time flying into space!

we decided get a coke and just kind of take a break for a few minutes. we found a bench outside the bathrooms near space mountain and enjoyed our coke. DH went to the men's room while i sat there and made some notes for my TR. there were some bushes behind the bench area and i heard something behind me and when i turned around there was a gigantic white bird -- i'm talking like 3 feet high -- right behind me..........:scared1: :faint: i SCREAMED and got up to run away from it. that was the first and only time the entire trip that i wasn't able to contain my feelings vocally about the birds! but it was very unexpected and VERY BIG and very close to me, so i couldn't help it! there was a guy sitting next to me and he just cracked up laughing at me. but then i noticed he had a pink camera from like 1989 and i almost said, "you're laughing at me? you have a pink "le click" camera. c'mon!!!!" but i held back and just walked away. DH came out of the bathrooms and i yelled to him from where i was standing. he looked at me like, "why are you over there?" of course when i explained to him what happened he didn't even question me because he knows my thing with birds!

we decided to head towards the castle to get a seat for the 4:40 show of "dream along with mickey." on the way we stopped at tinker bell's treasures because i wanted to see if i could find a tink charm for myself. i found one for only $15!!!! i love this store....so cute!

133.jpg

on the way out we ran into another grouch! I KNOW!!!! what is it with people being mean at the happiest place on earth????? this lady was in a scooter and ray accidentally *almost* ran into her. now you have to take into account this happened right outside tink's treasures so the castle is right there and when there's a big honkin castle in front of you, you might be a tad bit distracted and not paying attention where you're going. anyway, ray almost ran into her, but DIDN'T and said, "oh, i'm sorry" when he did it. the woman scowled at him, then looked at her husband and said, "see what i mean???" :headache: :headache: :headache: up until now i was pretty much able to keep the mouth i inherited from my father under control, but this was the exception. i turned around and said to her, "he said he was sorry, scooter nazi!!!!" :rotfl2: DH got a kick outta that one.

really though, when you consider the amount of people we encountered in the 4 days we were there, i only remember 4 people being rude. so that's not too bad....i can live with it! some people just don't get the disney magic i guess!

after that we headed around the castle to get a seat. the walkway through was closed because of the show that was about to start.

we got decent seats for the show. it was such a good show! i have to tell you, i was really impressed with the shows at WDW....every single one!!! even DH liked them. such talented CMs!

here are some pics from the show i took.....

136.jpg

144.jpg

147.jpg

151.jpg

my favorite villian ever....maleficent!!!! she never gets invited to the party. i'd so invite her to my party!!!!!

okay, so i made a reference to prince phillip's boyfriend earlier. let me explain. there was a guy sitting a few feet in front of us that knew EVERY dance move and EVERY word to every song in the show. i'm thinking maybe he was a CM there on his day off??? here's a video of him doing some of the dance moves. he's in the lower righthand side of the screen wearing a grey sleaveless shirt and he has a faux-hawk.

now the reason i think he may be either really good friends with prince phillip or romantically involved is because every time prince phillip would come out or come near him, he would scream and wave to him. if you listen closely in the video below, you can hear him yell during prince phillip's solo. the little girl in the blue hat and the little girl in the white hat both turn to him because he was yelling so loudly! by the way, when i downloaded this i let it run through the sweetest part of the show.....where mickey asks minnie to dance and she says she can't because she's not a princess and he says, "gee, minnie, you've always been a princess to me!" sigh....

i wish ray would've known to keep him in the shot more. he was so cute! i was cracking up at him the entire time.....:goodvibes

after the show was over it was around 5:00 and we had a 5:30 ADR at kona cafe, so we headed towards the exit. we opted for the monorail to get to the poly.

the ride was uneventful except for ray commenting on the wilderness lodge and wanting to stay there next time and some guy next to us saying in response, "you don’t....day bear....coat sir is to plastic ring dome ducks." HUH???? :confused3 i swear that's what it sounded like he said. he repeated himself several times before i understood him to say, "you don't want to stay there because the boat service to magic kingdom sucks." oh, okay. thanks! :rolleyes1 i'm thinking that alcohol or some very heavy medication played a part in that miscommunication!

we made it to the poly around 5:15. i love this resort......so pretty! someday we'll stay here!!! we checked in at kona and the hostess gave us a beeper and told us it would be just a few minutes. i took some pics while we waited....

176.jpg

177.jpg

we took a seat in the lounge outside 'ohana's and this guy was the entertainment. he was really good!

165-1.jpg

in just a few minutes our beeper went off and we were seated. our server (ratana) greeted us promptly and did a great job - he and the server from narcoosee's (rita) tied for the best servers we had at WDW. we couldn't make a decision on our drinks, so we decided to share two of them....make sense, right?!? :rotfl: we decided on the kona cool sundown (the red one below - blend of vodka, chambord liqueur, and cranberry juice) and a lapu lapu (in the pineapple - myer's rum, bacardi 151, orange juice, sour mix).

168.jpg

ratana even brought a small glass of extra lapu lapu since he said we had a small pineapple....now *that's* service!!! both were good but the lapu lapu was the BEST alcoholic drink i've ever had!!!!! i'm still trying to perfect this one at home.

we both decided on the crab cakes for our appetizer. in the meantime, ratana brought some really good sweet bread with macadamia nut butter.....yum!

169.jpg

here's ray waiting for our food.....

167.jpg

here are our crab cakes.......so good! very different from the ones at narcoosees, but still very, very good!

170.jpg

for our entrees i got the char crusted filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus and ray got the beef teriyaki with mashed potatoes and broccoli.....

172.jpg

171.jpg

we shared of course and both were very good, but let me tell you....my filet was out of this world.....the best steak i had at WDW!!! yes, better than le cellier! i didn't even use my knife. it just fell apart.......YUM!!!!!

for dessert we got the banana creme brulee and the white chocolate cheesecake...

174.jpg

173.jpg

both were good but honestly we didn't even come close to finishing them because we were so full! i wanted to get some pressed pot coffee, but i decided against it because i was so stuffed.

we LOVED kona cafe....such good food and the service was excellent! i highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

next time......nighttime at MK, i get a very small but very cute dream and wishes!!!!!!

next installment: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=19856906&postcount=640

:thumbsup2 Wow, love the food and parade pics! Thanks so much for sharing all of this. I feel like I am there! :woohoo:

]

I can just picture you running from the little birdie!!:lmao: And the pink "le click" I had one of those!!!!

And calling the lady scooter nazi! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Altho, in nazi scooter ladies defense, I ended up a few days in a wheel chair while there and it's amazing how many people cut right in front of you. But then there are also those in scooters and wheel chairs who think they always have the "right of way" no matter what the situation. Actually, my husbands grandma fits the bill as a scooter nazi!

I didn't get to see dream along with mickey.................made me so sad. But I loved seeing your pictures of it. Hey, you were sopossed to tell us about alladin's, or was it peter's boyfriend!!!!popcorn::

i'm sure you were a polite scooter patron! ray said he was sorry and this lady was so rude!

oh, and it was prince phillip's boyfriend i referenced. he's in the second post above in the video. you probably posted this right as i was posting that one and didn't see it!

Loved the video with "Prince Phillip's boyfriend" ... that was too funny! And, we LOVE Kona Cafe'. We've only been there for breakfast in the past, but I just booked an ADR for dinner on our future trip. Your pics make it look great! :goodvibes

Some how I posted in between your posts..............anyhoo. Love the video of prince phillip and his "fan"!

Kona looks so good, but my dh isn't a fan of "foo fooy" food so I'm not sure He'd like it.

This was a funny installment...between the bird and the camera and the Prince's boyfriend dancing.....I am LMAO. Good one!! Looking forward to more. And what could your small dream be??? Hmmm.....

:)

Lots of classic lines in this one! :rotfl2:

He said he was sorry, scooter nazi!

Coat sir is to plastic ring dome ducks!

Was his mouth full of cotton? English as a second language, perhaps! Either way I'm glad you made sense of it because I know I couldn't have.

And I vote freaky-stalker-with-an-AP on the faux hawk guy! Did Prince Phillip acknowledge him in any way?

Don't you LOVE Kona? I've booked it twice for the Sept. trip! It's that good!

Is your trip over already???

by the way, i haven't seen you on the peeps board lately. we miss you!
I'm taking a break for a while as I haven't lost any weight and keeping up with all my subbed threads takes ages :rotfl2:

ride space mountain again. the wait was only 10 minutes, so we hopped in line.
Wow short lines again!

but then i noticed he had a pink camera from like 1989 and i almost said, "you're laughing at me? you have a pink "le click" camera. c'mon!!!!"
Hey I always wanted one of those :rotfl2:

"he said he was sorry, scooter nazi!!!!" :rotfl2:
Good job you weren't in Epcots World Showcase :rotfl2:

there was a guy sitting a few feet in front of us that knew EVERY dance move and EVERY word to every song in the show.
Weird

for our entrees i got the char crusted filet with mashed potatoes and the white chocolate cheesecake...
OMG that's so what I'm ordering :goodvibes

I have so enjoyed your trip report. It's amazing how much you've done in your four day vacation. I'm hoping to book a vacation soon, and I don't think my boyfriend could take much more than four days at Disney, so it's great to see how much you can see in that time frame.

Love the report ~ lots of ground was covered in just 4 days... I can't wait to go back. I am enjoying all the pictures - it makes me feel like I am there with y'all.

i almost said, "you're laughing at me? you have a pink "le click" camera. c'mon!!!!" but i held back and just walked away.

I hate when I think of some zinger and then don't say it. Usually I don't think of it until the fact, though!

i turned around and said to her, "he said he was sorry, scooter nazi!!!!"

:rotfl2: Ok, so you made up for not zinging the camera guy!

Here's a video of him doing some of the dance moves. he's in the lower righthand side of the screen wearing a grey sleaveless shirt and he has a faux-hawk.

Thanks so much for including the videos! I got goosebumps when Mickey told Minnie she was his princess!

the ride was uneventful except for ray commenting on the wilderness lodge and wanting to stay there next time and some guy next to us saying in response, "you don’t....day bear....coat sir is to plastic ring dome ducks." HUH???? :confused3 i swear that's what it sounded like he said. he repeated himself several times before i understood him to say, "you don't want to stay there because the boat service to magic kingdom sucks." oh, okay. thanks! :rolleyes1 i'm thinking that alcohol or some very heavy medication played a part in that miscommunication!

:rotfl2: That almost landed Diet Pepsi on my monitor!

we couldn't make a decision on our drinks, so we decided to share two of them....make sense, right?!? :rotfl: we decided on the kona cool sundown (the red one below - blend of vodka, chambord liqueur, and cranberry juice) and a lapu lapu (in the pineapple - myer's rum, bacardi 151, orange juice, sour mix).

Mmmm, can't wait to try the Lapu Lapu!

Thanks for the great chapter. Can't wait to hear about your dream!
