How much $ was your vacation?

4 day premim YES tickets for 4 $748
Gas and 2 nights hotel driving down & back $475
8 nights at offsite cabin $586
4 days parking $56
7 days locker rentals $80
Food, princess lunch, souvenirs $1,150

So, right around $3,100. Although that last part was mostly paid in cash, and I believe we had a couple hundred bucks left over, so maybe a little less.

By far our most expensive trip as a family so far. We try to go somewhere each year now that both kids are old enough, but don't always spend this much.

wow- these vacations seem to be on the high side.

how often do you take vacations
DH and I do 2 vacations a year. Used to be they were both Disney, but I think we are leaning more toward 1 week Disney and 1 week cruising.
It's just us, the kids are grown and out of the house. When the kids were wee we scrimped and saved to bring them to Disney once a year.

I'd say we average $2,500 for a week long trip.

We're taking a super cheap trip this year, splitting our time between Disney and Universal for about $1,000-1,200. :cool1:

$60,000 for flights? Where did you fly from and how many people were in your group? That is insane!
5 people flying first class from Dublin to Orlando

This is from the same person that said a good vacation place is Saudi Arabia!
Saudi Arabia is a great place if you enjoy ancient ruins and the like

BA Flights £1400 from Glasgow
Package £2347
Our package is 20 days @ POFQ, QSDP and 14 day Ultimate tickets for the 3 of us.

I think that works out just short of $6000. In GBP it looked like a good price but seeing it at almost $6000 I'm not as convinced! :rotfl:

5 people and a budget of $1000 for tickets and $1500 for food? For 3 weeks? For real?

Um...whatever.

Last trip was two adults:

Flight: $450
Rental Car: $120
3 nights International Palms Resort: $140
2 day tickets to US/IOA: $250
7 nights ASMo: $635 (room discount)
7 day park hoppers: $700
Food/Groceries: $650
Souvenirs: $50
Gas for car: $25

So a bit over $3000 for 2 adults for 10 days.

I think it is a great price for almost 3 weeks!

For us:

9 nights 10 days driving from Maryland and doing split stay at BWV and BLT using DVC points as a long time owner.

Rooms - $1400 (this is dues cost and part of acquisition cost)

Tickets - $250 for 2 people ( premium annual DVC pass that will be used for 2 more trips and purchased with disney gift cards that were acquired at target with discount - so this is the prorated part for this trip)

Food - $500 - $600 - we have 2-3 booked meals but in a villa we will do breakfasts and whatever we feel like. We both are weight and health conscious and have to stay away from a lot of high calorie stuff so, lots of fruits and veggies which are cheaper and easier.
I have discounted Disney gift cards and also many chain gift cards as well. So, $600 was acquired at about $500.

Gas for trip - High $400 - low $300 - don't know what end of March will bring for gas prices.

Miscellaneous - $100-$200 - not likely to buy many souvenirs, but you never know what catches my fancy so I build in a cushion.

So, $2550 to $2850 depending on prices and where we eat, etc for 2 adults.

Our next trip will be closer to $2000 because of lower cost rooms (less points) and our Xmas trip will be more than $5000 because of larger villa, more people and generally the season.

So disney vacation budget for 3 trips in 2013, about 10K.

Another way to look at it:

Gas and tips - around $500 fpr 10 days.

Everything else is already paid. ie DVC, PAP's, Gift Cards for food and souvenirs.

That makes a little more sense. But where do you get tickets for around $200 apiece when you're staying at Disney for 3 weeks? How many park days does that cover? Even a 2-day MYW base ticket is over $200 once you add tax.

4 people all 'adults';)--- flights, free (use cc points) 2 nights at Hard Rock Universal, free(cc points) 2 days tix for Uni,147.00 (discounted using cc points) one night Pop,6 nights POFQ ,w/ 2 day park tix with free dining plan=1900.00- (used a couple of days of old passes we had for tickets) rental car 165.00
total was about 2200.00 (but factoring in the annual cost of keeping my credit cards to use them, another 200.00)
total cost about 2400.00,plus some extras thrown in here and there:cool1:

Baboo seems like a troll. I reviewed their posts, they recommended someone to travel by car and not by airlines if they were taking their toddler so that they didn't annoy the other passengers. Also, they posted that they slip hostesses money at the Disney restaurants in order to get a table. This is not an accepted practice at Disney and no cast member would risk losing their job over this. So I really wouldn't take any of their posts seriously.

But there is a 21 day ticket for Europeans to purchase that is only $369.34 per ticket. So they may have purchased such a ticket but it still doesn't explain their other posts.

Hey, you have to save somewhere! :lmao:

Makes perfect sense to me to spend $60,000 on several hours of flying but only $1,000 on a couple of weeks of entertainment. :coffee:

December 15-23, 2012. Just DH and I. 8 nights at BLT in a studio. This trip was to celebrate my surviving lung cancer. We normally trip to keep them around $2000 (before rewards and gift cards) but we were really celebrating this time!

Annual Passes using DVC discount - $399 each
Room - we are DVC so no charge
Flights - 2 Business Class at $250 each
TIW card to help with food - $100 (we saved $140 on this trip so it more than paid for itself!)
MVMCP tickets - $70 each
Food - $1200
Tips, airport parking, rental car etc - $400

Total for the week - approx. $3100. We will get 2 more trips off our AP so more than worth it to us. We also had $600 in Disney Rewards to use for this trip and $300 in gift cards from gifts so cash outlay was about $2200

Upcoming July 2013 - DH and I for 3 nights in a BLT studio
Tickets - $0 (AP's)
Room - $0 (DVC)
Airline - $300 for both - got a great deal on AirTran which pushes up close to 4 free RT tickets for our October trip (see below)
Food - $400
Misc- $200 tips, airport parking

Total $900 - not too shabby

Upcoming trip October 2013, DH, DS (25), DD(24) and I. 6 nights in at BLT in a 2 bedroom lake view, kids will go home and DH I will move to a BLT studio for 4 more nights lake view, then DH and I are going on a Disney cruise.

Tickets for the kids- $600 - our gift to them for our DD getting her BA and our DS getting his Masters.
Rooms - we are DVC so no outlay
Our ticket - $0 (love those AP's)
MNSSHP tickets-$200
Airline us - $0 (cashing in miles)
Airline kids - $0 (we should have enough miles for them)
Cruise - $1500
Food - $1500 for DH and I (kids will take care of their food)
dinner to celebrate graduations on DH and I - $300 (TIW is AWESOME)
Limo to and from port - $250
Dessert Party - $200
Tips on Cruise - $200
tips (non cruise), airport parking, car rental, baggage fees, etc., mini wedding style cake for DH and I anniversary - $1500

We figure about $5600 in total but we should have another $600 or so in Disney Rewards and $200 in gift cards so total cash out will be about $4800.

This will probably be our last trip with just the kids and us (they are all grown up now:sad:).

I think we were around $3500 total for the 5 of us last December for 6 days. Rented DVC, DDP, flight in, Park Hoppers. I should really pull out my spreadsheet, LOL
