In a quandary over this.

We are myself, husband, and our 6 year-old boy.

How much do you think we'll spend on food if we're staying at Port Orleans Riverside? We'll eat breakfast there, and lunch and dinner in the parks.

Maybe we'll budget for a special dinner or two. The little one loves characters.

My husband and I are budgeting $100 per day for food...

We're leaving on Saturday - yay!!!
:p

We found the menus listed on wdwig.com (sorry...I don't know how to make a link) very helpful in planning our food budget. You can look at the menus to decide where you might want to eat, and see how much the dishes you might order would cost.

Hope this helps-

We usually do bfast in the room or food court and a late/lunch early dinner. Last year we spent between $50 - $100 a day. Sometimes we would grab a pizza late night, another day we would do a character bfast.

This year we have the Discovery Magic package so I am curious to see how that goes!!!

We have 3, 2 Adults,1 teen,We ate almost all of our meals at Disney. We Budgeted $100. aday. Some days it was less,if we ate breakfast in our room or spend under $30. for dinner. And some more if we ate a Character Breakfast and another sit down meal over $30. But it evened out very well and we did not go hungry.

WE had a family of four for 14 days, and our budget was $50 per day..(2 adults, one 4 year old, one seven year old)

WE were $150 under.

Our offsite hotel included breakfast, and used many offsite coupons as well. I still can't believe we did it, but we did!

If you are staying on property without a car, you are sort of victim to Disney prices. If a car or transportation is an option, I would definetely say go for it, for some or most of your meals.
You will be definetely suprised/pleased.

DW and I budget $50 / day for food and that is usually plenty. I don't think we could eat $100 / day worth of food ;)

We are a family of four and budget 100 dollars per day. We have a 19 month old so he does not eat much. There will be some days where you spend less. But for your couple of special dinners, you will spend more. we usually come under budget so I feel great coming back home with some money. But you do not want to fall short on your vacation. You will be surprised how much all of the little things add up. Water and snacks can get expensive. I would suggest stopping at a market on the way from the aiport and pick up a case of water. That ten dollars at the market is worth 50 dollars inside the parks.. Have a great trip and eat whatever you want... Remember, you are on vacation....

Our two adult -1 child family does on about 100.00 a day. Breakfast in the room most days and either lunch or dinner sit down and the other counter service or food court. Snacks along the way and several character meals. Some day over, some under but it always evens out to about 100.00.

We are a family of 5 and we budget about $100 - $125 a day for food.

Last trip we did food court for breakfast and mostly counter service for dinner and lunch.

We also did Donald's Breakfast, Rose and Crown(D), Hollywood and Vine(F!DP), Sci-Fi Dine-In(L) and Benihana(D) near Downtown Disney.

We also had lots of drinks in the Parks and assorted snacks (Beavertails, ice-creams, pop-corn, etc).

We came home with $60 left out of our food budget.

For one adult and two kids I budget $50 a day and that is always enough. We usualy eat two character meals a trip, a couple of sit down lunches, the rest counter service, and breakfast in our rooms. We bring a Brita refillable water bottle, eat most breakfasts in our rooms, bring snacks and have peanut butter and lunchmeat for a quick meal if we don't feel like eating out.

When you guys eat breakfast in your room what do you mean? I wanted to bring our own cereal & breakfast snacks & buy a 1/2 gallon of milk each morning. Thanks!

We stop at a supermarket (normally Goodings) on the way to the resort. We pick up a styrophoam cooler, box of ziplock baggies, bagels, cream cheese, soda, water, snacks, paper plates, utensils, napkins, etc. We fill up the baggies with ice from the hotel ice machine and put it in the cooler along with all of the stuff that needs to be refrigerated. Each morning, we empty out the water and refill the baggies with ice. This works great for us.

;)

We bring a box of ceral, small cans of juice, poptarts, muffins, banannas, etc. We pack all this in a cooler and then unload it and fill the cooler with ice from the ice machine. We buy a 1/2 gallon of milk in the gift shop(cheaper than the food court) and keep that, the cans of juice, bottles of water and soft drinks in the cooler. We also use plastic bags to contain the water. We put left over pizza in there one night, but no one ever ate it.
