How much time should I plan on for the Food and wine festival at Epcot?

We are arriving at 10am on the last saturday of the food/wine festival and would love to see it. Was going to go straight to MK then to Epcot to snack around for dinner at the booths. Then on Sunday back to MK in the am then Epcot in the afternoon for the last day of the festival. Should I plan a full day at Epcot for the fest?

Chances are the Fest will be very crowded because it's a weekend( lots of locals) and it's the last few days. Later in the day around dinner time and after, the lines for the food booths are long, your chances of getting into one of the free wine seminars are pretty iffy, too. If you're traveling with kids, more time at the MK is probably a good idea but if it's all adults the F & W Fest is great. The best time to be there to avoid the crowds is when World Showcase opens at 11:00.

The food and wine is cheaper than if you buy in a restuarant--which is very nice--maybe $4 or $5 for a glass (I could promise I even saw one for $3) as opposed to $6 or $7...

Appetizer portions run from $1 per appetizer single serving up to $5 or $6.

The ziti in Italy is EXCELLENT!!! I was expecting less--b/c lets face it...pasta, sauce, and cheese--what can you do to make it fantastic...Disney found a way. The cannolli was yummy, too! Plus a glass of wine--I think my total was $8.50--no place at Disney to eat for that little except the Food and Wine Festival.

Depending on how much you eat--$10-$20 would be enough for food (more if you are wayyy into the food sampling). $10 would be enough for 2 or 3 glasses of wine. 1 glass was enough for me as it just gets me tipsy easily. But if you can hold your own--$15-$20 would be ample.

These figures are if you are indulging or a big eater and are per person. The samples are not really large enough for sharing.

I would head straight to EPCOT-save MK for another day--the food and wine festival is the best!

How much time you spend at the F&W depends on how adventurous you are when it comes to trying new things!

Me and DH LOVE the F&W and spent 4 nights there! We stopped at every booth and tried almost everything!(including the wine and beer) which is why we had to go back! We only made it about half way around before we were stuffed and pretty loopy! we spent our last night there going back and getting everything we liked the most from our favorite booths.

My sister and her family however, although they enjoy going everytime they are there, only spend one day b/c of their taste in food and the ages of their kids.

I guess what you really need to do is check out the menu and make a determination from that how much time you want to spend there. You can see this years menu at http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/fw04c.htm

I hope my info helps you!

We spend one day eating the main courses, and another day sampling all the desserts. That way, you can try everything.
