I'm interested in hearing how much time you would devote to Universal in June, on site, and allowing plenty of time to relax at the resort. (I've got two kids who will love the pools and a hubby who likes his downtime.)

I just cannot decide how long I should make this trip???

We started out with 3 days several years ago, which was not enough time
Always felt kinda sad leaving , we then started staying 5 days which is good.

Last Oct. was 6 nights ,this year have 7 nights at RPR in Oct.
There is so much you can do besides the parks, visiting the other hotels
and resturaunts and pools, citywalk. For me 5 nights min.

We always spend a week in the summertime. :thumbsup2

You should plan two full days at a minimum...three to four days is preferable.

Our last (and only) trip to UO was December 19-26, 2008. On that trip we had the $99 week-long tickets. We stayed at the Doubletree at the entrance to Universal for the first five days, then did our last two days at the RPR.... And FELL IN  with both the hotel, the pool and the FOTL pass.

My initial plan for this trip was to do 4D/4N at RPR because the kids have been asking to go to the beach, so I thought that would make a nice split week trip (9 days total counting drive time from Indiana). Dh and I are not huge fans of the beach so it's been 9 years since we took a beach vacation. The kids love both, theme parks and water/beach.

So (here's where my internal debate starts):

Will we be dissapointed with only four park days? Will it feel short/rushed after our lengthy trip in 08? DH always needs a break from the sensory overload at theme parks and we enjoy spending the heat of the day at a pool, so we would not be staying in the parks all day long. We have NEVER managed this at any theme park, ever.

OR

(On the flip side) Will a week be too long because we already know which attractions we would skip and we've already been there/done that?? The only new attractions are WWoHP and HRRR. We did every ride on our last trip (except DS who was too short for Hulk and DD).

We could fit in a full week at Universal and still have time for a beach day for the kids, maybe two if DH is willing to drive through the night again ;).

I did the budget for both options and don't feel it is cost prohibitive to do a week at UO and cut back on the beach, but I simply cannot decide which option is best. (Why, oh why, does UO not offer a ticket option between 4 and 7 days. It would make this decision much easier. :headache:)

What to do? What would you do?

I personally have to go along with this one. I went in January, spent two full days here and still did not feel completely satisfied with everything that was offered. Combine the children with pools and the man with the relaxation, I would go for a minimum for 3 days. This was you don't feel pressured of cramming everything in.

Good Luck!

I think you'll be fine with four days. You'll get a lot done staying onsite and it is so easy to go back and forth between the pool at the hotel and the parks. Plus hours will be extended in June so really four days at the parks then the beach sounds like it would work great!

When we took our kids when they were younger we would do 7 days and go to the parks for as long as they wanted and that was usually half of the day and the rest of the day devoted to the pool but when we started staying onsite at RPR we did the parks for a few hours in the morning and pools in the afternoon and then end the night with maybe a hour or two back at the parks and a nice dinner at citywalk and then called it a day
