How much time should we allot for Blizzard Beach? My boys are total water park lovers but I want to know whether we will need a whole day there or just a 1/2 a day. Thanks!

We usually get there for opening. By about 2pm we are all swum out. However my DS5 usually need a lot of persuading to leave. Also depends on the age of your boys, if they are tall enough for some of the big slides, you might find they are happy for a lot longer than a 1/2 day!

been for Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?? If neither, I would suggest doing Typhoon Lagoon before doing BB. BB is a good park, don't get me wrong, but Typhoon Lagoon is so much nicer and better than BB, just my .02.

We are a Water Park LOVING family! We have annual Water Park passes, that's how much we love them. I can say you will Easily spend an entire day @ either of them. The time flies so fast, you cannot believe it! We have to schedule an extra 3 days onto every WDW vacation just to go to Typhoon 2X and Blizzard once. Cannot miss them.

Keep in mind, if you're not using the NEW Extra Magic hours @ the water parks, the park opens @ 10:00 and closes @ 5:00pm (may be open later during peak seasons) so the day isn't really all that long. You will still have plenty of time to hit another park in the evening.

I would also strongly suggest, if your boys are water park addicts, to go to the water park early on during your trip. You will see what a complete blast they are and will probably want to go back! Have fun!!!

Thelionqueen,
Unfortunately, Blizzard Beach will be the only waterpark open in Feb. The other 2 are closed for refurbishing.

I actually prefer BB to Typhoon Lagoon, each to their own and all that. If your kids are of the right height they probably would love to try out the new Crush and Gusher at TL. So I would have to agree with the above posters recommendation to go to TL!

But having seen that you are going in Feb..BB it is!! By the way the third water park River County is long closed, since 1999 I think.

Didn't notice the timing of your trip...sorry :teeth:
Blizzard Beach is a great park too. I would definitely plan the entire day, even if you bow out early. A couple suggestions I would make is to get sunglasses with the super strong cords (life saver for us), water socks, your own towels and lots of sunscreen. Have lots of fun, you just gave me the "I wanna go right now" syndrome :rotfl2:
