How much time do you REALLY spend in your room???

We always go the 1st or 2nd week of December, and park hours are shorter, so we usually go to early entry park at 8:00 and stay until closing. Only exeption are the nights we do MVMCP or go to Epcot (which stays opened later). Now with some parks opening for guest later will probably spend a little more time in room. But then again maybe not

For Christmas she got a playmat "map" of MK. She loves to pull it out & have her dolls ride the monorail or the boats around & play tourguide.

I was wondering where you purchased that playmat, as I haven't seen one before and want one for myse... I mean.. my daughter. :)

Last year we stayed at ASM and spent very little time in our room other than sleeping and depending bringing back our dd for a nap. This year we are staying at POP and have a 10 month old so I'm thinking we will do the same unless she naps in her stroller in the parks, which I'm hoping but if we need to be back at the room dh will take the older girls to the arcade or pool. So nope we don't plan to spend much time in our room other than a quick 2 hour recharge if necessary.

Right now, while it's just DH and me we stay in the parks almost constantly. However, I always claim that "this trip is going to be more relaxing" and plan on spending time at the resort so I usually book a deluxe. But then it always turns out that I just can't stand to be in the room if I could be out doing anything else. DW is the only place where I can get up early without complaining! I'm sure we'll spend more time at the resort when we have kids -right now naps and pools aren't super important to us.

We just returned from WDW and we stayed at ASMo. We have a 2 and 3 year old. I thought this value resort was great for us. Having stayed at WL and CSR, I really don't remember those rooms being much larger than our room at ASMo. It didn't seem tiny.

We were up and out of our room by 8 a.m. most days and at 7:15 a.m. on EMH mornings for MK and AK. We sometimes took a break mid day for the kids to nap and then we came back to the room at night right before the kids' bedtime. It sure didn't feel like we were in the room that much. I don't think a bigger room would have made the trip better for us, and in fact the Toy Story characters in our section were a huge hit with the kids.

We usually don't stay in our room very long. We just pretty much sleep there.

We don't necessarily do the parks "commando" style, in that we don't have any preset plans or anything like that, don't even make any PS's until we get down there and get settled. But we do spend our entire days at the parks. We have been the last 2 years, with a DS7 and DD4 and then the next year a DS8 and DD5, and they wouldn't want to come back to the room during the day. They would feel that would be a waste of time. They do like to swim, but they are happy just doing that at night when we get back, often 8 or 9 PM. And then they sleep well at night, and are ready to go the next morning.

So we spend about 8-10 hours in our room, depending on when we leave each morning and when we get back in each night, and we do eat a quick breakfast (breakfast bars or cold cereal or something like that) in our rooms each morning, to save both time and $$$.

So the category of hotel is really not a consideration for us, since we're not there enough to enjoy it. We may try a Mod one year, just to see what it's like or maybe to have a pool slide, but I don't see us spending the money to do Deluxe when we're never there!
