How much time at Sea World?

I have relatives going to Disney (staying onsite) and want to go to SW for the day. I need to tell the towncar company what time to pick them up.

SW is open 9 to 6-- do you think they need to be there open to close? They are 2 adults/2 teens and haven't been there before.

Will it feel to long for them to be there all day? Or is there enough to do?

I would say open to close as there are several shows that are only offered at certain times during the day. There is definitely plenty for them to do for the day. I hear there is a type of QSDP option there ( I know it is not Disney, it is called something else but I figured I would use that for reference).

Yes, 9-6 is what I would tell them. It will take that long to see all the shows, ride the coasters, and visit all the exhibits. SW is a big park with lots to do and see. .

I would say they need all day and still may not get to do everything. Because there are so many shows it's really hard to work out your schedule to fit everything in. We found ourselves zig zagging the park trying to get to all the shows, then you have the rides. There is plenty to do.

Yep. They will need all day. When they get there first thing, get a map. On the back there is scheduled showtimes.There is a pattern that starts at Blue Horizons, to Clyde and Seamore, then Beleive.After the 3 main shows, theres plenty of time to see the show at Nautilus theatre, Seaport theatre, and the exhibits/coasters in between.You just have to look at the map for a minute, to find that pattern.

Thanks truck1, we are heading there this March for the 1st time and was going to buy the tickets online to get the 2nd day free within 7 days. So there is a pattern on the back of the map? We also want to see everything including the major shows.

I recently purchased tickets for Seaworld and Busch Gardens in a package for basically the same as one park ticket. It allows you unlimited visits for 14 days.

To be able to do everything in one day from 9-6pm they need to plan their day out as far as what times they plan to see the different shows as well as leaving time to do the rides and eating,and this is if it's not a busy day at the park,if it is it might take them more than one day to do the park.It is a very big park with the two major coasters,the Atlantis Flume ride,the Wild Arctic simulator and exhibits like inside Wild Arctic with the Polar bears and Walruses add to that the many shows which are scheduled at different times and unless you plan it out right you can't get it all in.If the park is only open until 6pm it shouldn't be too busy,but they'll definitely need the whole day.

You can see by the italics, that the pattern will start with Blue Horizons, then goes to Clyde and Seamore, then Believe, then either allure or Pets ahoy with the other coming in at the 3 oclock hour.Then repeats at 1pm 3pm and 5pm.The shows are about 20-25 minutes long.What I would do, is be there at 9 am when they open the gates and go right to Manta, as that is the more popular of the 2 coasters. Then if you still have time when you get off, go to Kracken as it is next to it.Then start with the BH show,etc. On the way you can hit the piniped area,on the way to C & S, Sharks,Clydsedale Hamlet, on the way to Beleive, and then I would hit Pets Ahoy, since it is next/near to most of the restaraunts. Between PA, and 3-315 I would hit Atlantis, and Wild Arctic.If you have to sacrifice something, I would suggest either pets ahoy or allure.All that is left would be the Stingray Lagoon, Dolphin area, and the Penguins.All 3 of those you can do at your leisure.And dont miss the aqaurium in the base of Manta.

UMMMM as a veteran SW goer for the last 25 years, I have to say I found this confusing. I have no clue what piniped area is. LOL

Manta and Kraken are not next to each other.

I would wait till the schedule comes out for March. Look at the schedule on line, but pick up one in the park because sometimes it is not the same- they adjust to the crowds daily. When is Easter? It will bring crowds to the parks. Even if Easter week is earlier or later there it is still spring break time March and April, so the crowds will be larger than during September. Are you going on a weekday or a weekend. Is it a Bud and BBQ day?

If you want the best interaction while feeding the dolphins I would go there first rather than the coasters. Another option for coasters that has always worked for my family is the last hour the park is open. They have always managed to ride many times then. In the slower seasons when they don't have the night shows, a lot of people leave around 4 or 5 to head over to Disney parks for fireworks etc.

If you choose to go to shows one right after the other on the schedule, it does not leave a lot of time to do a lot of things on the way. Walk from Believe to Blue Horizon is about a ( brisk)10 minute walk.

You will want to do Wild Arctic while Believe has a stadium full rather than doing it when leaving the Believe Show. Lines are long when Shamu ends cause people think do it while in the area.

The new aquarium at Manta is awesome so don't miss that. So is Shark Encounter so give yourself time to spend in there, too. We spend a lot of time with the Sealions, the rays underwater viewing of dolphins and Shamu and the penguins every time we are there because it is fascinating watching them. Every group really has to just decide how to do the park and the amount of time needed by their family for exhibits, meals, and bathroom breaks while they are there. SW is no longer just a 1 day park but you can enjoy seeing just what you get to see and do. We have been there on busy days where we didn't get into any shows and just spent the day in the exhibits and still had a great day.

I was using the Sept. schedule as an example of how to find the pattern.Generally though the first shows are in the same time frame.
Piniped (the name used by those of us who used to work there)is Pacific Point Preserve. Its the area that the non show seals and sea lions are in next to the Sea Lion Stadium.
When I posted the show times, I copied and pasted them as they came off the web site.They are not listed in the order that the shows are shown, they are in alphabetical order. Its also fairly close as to how you would find it on the back of a map.(Out of show order)
The BH show is 10, the SL show is 1045 and Shamu is 1130. (for Spet 25th.)That would be the pattern I was reffering to.Youll see the same pattern every day from the 5 oclock closes to the midnight closes.The pattern will take you from BH to SL to Beleive, with the other 2 timed shows in there as well.You just have to look.When you look again you will see a 2nd pattern for later in the day for BH (Blue Horizon)@1 SL (Sea Lion)@ 3 and Shamu @ 5.If you walk from BH to SL to Shamu you are walking in a big circle.Since the shows are 20-25 minutes long, that still leaves 20 - 25 minutes to go from stadium to stadium to stadium, which are about 5-7 minutes apart.Along the way you can hit the side areas like PPP (Pacific Point Preserve) and walk in the side entrance of SL.On the way out of SL,I would skip sharks at first, and go to the Clydesdales Hamlet,on the way to Shamu, since everyone else coming out of SL will prob be going to sharks and hit sharks after lunch during a show.

Kraken and Manta are in the same general area. Maybe a 2 or 3 minute walk.5 at the most.

The other option would be to hit the little things and coasters like Manta and Kraken, and Atlantis in the Morn, during the first show times, then got to the shows starting at 1 after lunch.Its up to you, but its doable to hit most of the big attarctions during the day.

Would it still be doable if you had reservations at the Shark's grill? I imagine that could take up a good 90 mins, but my daughter really wants to eat there.

I realize the pace is also very subjective to people's touring styles, but we are pretty much, let's hit it, let's get over there quickly, and when there isn't anything imminent we have to get to, then is when we'd take our time looking at other displays.

By the way, we will probably get the quick que for the lines. Thanks for any opinions on that.

Should still be doable if you have reservations for sharks for a meal. What time of year are you going? The later the close the better, but at the same time, like this time of year, when the park loads are low, you still have plenty of time to hit the major things. Like I posted before, look up the time frame you are going to SW, then find the pattern and you can pretty much walk your self thru the park with out even being there.

Will be in Istanbul in mid-May and would like to take a sea bus or hydrofoil from Istanbul to Bodrum on Friday 23 May. Can anyone suggest a company? I get the impression that the car ferries take some time 10-12 hours. Is there a quicker way?

It is very easy to spend the whole day at SeaWorld especially if you haven't been there before. I would say to have them stay the whole day. With the shows and the rides it can take all day plus more to see everything.

We were there for the day and it was plenty of time. I was a slow walker at the time (had major pelvis reconstructive work done just a couple months prior), and we also had time to go swim with dolphins.

Unless the day is really busy and you can't fit most of the shows and rides, I think spending more than the day there is overkill.
