How much time at each park?

We will be going to Orlando in June and will, for the first time, spend time at Universal instead of staying at Disney the whole trip. We will have 3 kids (10, 8, and 3) and will be staying on-site. My plan is to spend 3 days at USF/IOA and 1 day at Seaworld before heading to WDW. Is this enough time to see/do everything without going into commando mode? Thanks

With kids the ages of yours I would want at least 3 days in the parks, especially in June when the crowds will be picking up. Will you be staying onsite? If so you'll have the front-of-the-line access. How tall is your 3yo? We spent 3 days in the parks August 2001 and still didn't see a lot of the shows, but our little guy was an active toddler so we didn't really want to put ourselves through a lot of sitting... He's 3yo now and we are going back spring break and plan on 4-5 days in the parks. We wanted to allow for pool time, etc, and he's old enough for shows, which take time. Also, my bigger kids like the thrill rides so we will be doing the baby swap a lot.

Hi,
I think that 3 days is PLENTY of enough time for Universal. When I go with my children (12, 13) in the off-season (Feb) we are able to do BOTH parks in one day.

I think it depends on what you're going to the parks for. If you're just there for the rides and shows, one day is enough. But if you're like our family LOL you'll need at least 2 days for each because we like to see and do EVERYTHING, sit on every bench, go into every store, walk down every street, peek into every nook and cranny, hear every sound, etc. I know, I need to get a life, but we love enjoying the whole effect and all the little things that commando touring misses. Since we stay onsight, we can do it this way. But if you're pressed for time, yes, all the major things can be done in a day and you'll have fun either way!

Mike, your plan sounds great! 3 days for a family like yours is really required to enjoy and see it all at a nice pace. My kids love to stop and spend play time at many of the interactive play areas.

Aisling,

I like touring the parks the way you do! I guess that makes 2 of us that need to get a life;)

Then I need to get a life, too! We like to poke around and spend lots of time at places we enjoy and we also like to ride our favorite rides over and over.

Nothing wrong with that, I do the same thing, ride BTTF over and over again and spent alot of time at Jurassic Park.

Whatever is fun for you is what you should do.
