how much table space do you have?

I have a 36 inch enamelware table (it was the kids) I use it because it cleans up so well. But It seems so small there is not alot of space for any thing larger at the time. We are going to make a built in unit but at the present time it is on hold. So I was courious what size table do you work on and do you like it or would you like more space too.

I bought a 6 foot folding table at Costco last Spring...it has a nice surface, about 3 feet deep I would guess. Right now it is covered with my son's "art" project (aka a big mess of cut up papers), but when it's cleared off I have great scrapping space. I have two sets of those plastic drawers that sit on top and hold my cutting system components, my shape makers, scissors, tape runners, die cuts, pens...Then I have my accessory binder that holds my stickers, a workshop organizor that holds all my papers (hanging file type of thing), and another vertical organizor that I keep some idea books in, among other junk.

I have a gateleg table that is about 3 x 5 when fully opened and it is not nearly large enough! I'm a messy scrapper though. I have stuff (read as 'scraps') all over the place. I keep a trash can right there and try to cut and toss, but.......
Also, I have pencils, rulers, punchs, stickers all spread around. I have most of my stuff organized in a "junk drawer organizer" I got at Linens and Things and a couple of other small divided trays and a small two drawer unit. But I don't keep those on top of the table so I have to get up to retrieve them (in a bookcase right next to the table) and then I don't put them back immediately and suddenly my table is covered with stuff.

I knew I probably needed more room when I bought the table, but I needed something that folded up really small so when I want my bedroom to look presentable it can! (With both leaves down the table is only about 6 inches wide!) When I get really desperate I put a tv tray next to my table for extra space. In a perfect world I would have a large "counter" out of laminate sitting in front of some sort of corkboard/pegboard combination with everything hanging in front of me, kind of like a tool bench. Maybe in my next life!.....................P

I bought one of those 6 foot tables thinking I would be able to store it in the basement after I was done scrapping. Well, since
I bought that table it has become a permanent fixture in our dining room! I teach scrapbook and stamping classes so the
supplies have taken over a part of every room in our home
Someday when my kids are grown I will have a room that can
store neatly all of my stuff--but until then...being a little messy is
a sign of being highly creative right? I think I read that somewhere...

My Dh built me a counter in our basement. I went to a home store and bought a 4 foot long 3 foot wide counter and Gary installed it. I love it. We just added another 4 foot section and now we will add again so I can have a computer down in the basement in my scrapbook room. Its all normal counter high with room for my legs under. I can stand or use a stool.

You all are so lucky! I have little room so I use a snack table. Before that I used my bed.

I have a big desk that has a book shelf that sits on it. Off to the side my hubby built me some shelves and I have two rolling 5 drawer rolling thing. All this is in my large walk-in closet. And there is plenty of room for his clothes to.

I used to use my coffee table but now I have moved to a corner of the family room and I have a dropleaf kitchenette table with formica top so it is easy to clean. The size is about 3'x6' which is a bit small but it forces me to return things to their storage places promptly.

The only thing that stays on top is my mini desktop organizer for pens/cutting tools/adhesive, a tall glass for my rulers a glass mat and my cutter.
