How much spin on MIB

I will be in Orlando in a little over a month. i am looking forward to the Men in Black attraction but I get dizzy and nauseous quite easy. I rode Cat in the Hat a couple years ago with no problems. Is the spinning in MiB more often and for longer durations? Thanks.

Our family went to Universal last year for the first time. We did MIB several times. Your experience is different each time because the only way you'll spin is if the people in the cars next to you make it spin(with their laser guns) We also did the Cat in the Hat and thought you spun more with those cars. I don't think the spinning in the MIB ride spun too much. Maybe you'll luck out and no one will hit your car. Have fun!!

I thought the spinning was more intense on Cat in the Hat also. We rode MIB 4-5 times on our recent trip and I never thought the spinning was too bad.

I was going to ask this very same question, so I'm glad someone else was curious, too.

My boyfriend and I are going on our very first trip to Universal Studios and IOA in June, and I wanted to ride Men in Black, but I was worried about the spinning. I can ride roller coasters all day long, but rides that spin in circles make me green.

I wasn't aware that the Cat in the Hat ride spun...how much worse is it than MIB? Thanks!

Rides that spin cause me to feel sick as well. Cat in the Hat was almost too much for me to handle... I started feeling like I was going to be sick by the end of that ride. But I did okay on MIB though. I felt a LITTLE bit woozy on MIB, but never to the point that I thought I would actually get sick. I take Bonine for motion sickness each day before hitting the parks. If it wasn't for the Bonine, I don't think I could ride anything that spins at all.

We rode MIB about 4 times in a row our first morning at US. I noticed that the spinning effect wasn't as bad when I was riding in the front row of the car. In the back row, I REALLY noticed the whirling effect more. So you might want to ask the ride attendant if you can sit in the front row the first time you ride it, to see how you do.

You could request the spin be shut off for Cat in the Hat. I remember seeing a sign about it prior to getting in line. I dont find the spinning to be bad in MIB and most dont seem to have a problem with it. Riding in the front on BTTF and Cat in Hat seems to help! Good Luck

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will be okay. I love roller coasters and other rides but can hardly do any of them because I get sick so easy. I even got sick on a teeter-totter with my great nephew!!! I have tried Dramamine and mechlazine and they sort of work but make me way to sleepy. I am going to try SeaBands this time.

I don't think that bonine causes sleepiness. I've never taken it, but my daughter does and she hasn't complained about being sleepy.

I have tried working with Bonine (mechlezine) on my past few trips. It is "less drowsy" formula but it still hits me really hard. I took the advice of begining to take it 3 days before the trip and I was just so wasted by Noon that I had to go back to the hotel to sleep. I quit taking it and was fine. You may wish to test it out before hand.

My personal opinion is that the Cat in the Hat spinning is more "aggressive" than MIB. But that may just be because the ride vehicle is smaller and therefore the circle you move in is smaller.

Interesting about the bonine. I tend to have the opposite reaction to medication as most people, so I probably would get sleepy. Sleep aids (ie Tylenol PM) make me jittery and unable to sleep. Doesn't a person take bonine every 24 hours? If so, maybe a dose could be taken at bedtime and the sleepiness would be worn off by morning (unless the medicine is worn off all together...). Worth a try if it makes you sleepy. I'm ok with most spinning unless we're talking about real spinny carnival type rides. My daughter takes it for car sickness so she might not notice any sleepiness, even if she experiences it since she's not the driver.

MIB always spins through 2/3 rotations at the end of the ride, just before you get your scores. Someone else correctly posted that the amount of spins during the ride is totally dependant on how many hits your car gets.
