We are going to HHI for one week in August. How much money do you reserve for your vacations there? Assuming airfair, car rental, and, of course, hotel are already paid for, what will it cost 2 adults and an infant for food and entertainment? DH would like to golf and we might want to do a couple of the paid activities.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you but I just wanted to wish you congratulations on your expected arrival! We just had our first baby last October and are considering going to Hilton Head in September for a relaxing family getaway so I'll be curious to see what others have to say.

Good luck!
Laurie

Thank you :teeth:

Any info people could give would be helpful...

The best things are free---lounging by the pool and beach, surfing the waves with the boogie board, etc. The price for bikes is around $25./wk.

There are a lot of choices in good restaurants, from $10. meal at San Miguel's, to $30-40. at some of the nicer places (not including alcohol)--note these are prices for dinner. If you want to save money, check out the early bird special restaurants---there's a whole listing in the Restaurant Guide (pick it up for free when you get there). Those run about $15. pp for the meal (not including alcohol, tax, tip). There are some wonderful restaurants on this list.

You can also budget for excursions, such as dolphin sightseeing or kayaking. Figure $25-30. Not sure what the exact prices are for resort activites, but everything I saw was pretty minimal in price. Golf can be expensive depending on the course: prices range from $40-$245. HTH :sunny:

If you are on a budget, choose the restaurants that have the early diner specials. These are some of the upscale places and from 5-6, they offer a 3-4 corse meal for $12-16. You will get a big book of restaurants at check in, and it will have a page on the early ones.

oops, I did not see that Dis-Happy already told you of this.

Is there a Hilton Head website that you would recommend that would have good info re: activities, restaurants and prices?
