Janet,
You don't necessarily have to use your car to park hop - it really depends what you're doing and when. For example, if you wanted to visit MK in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon, you could take your car to the Transportation and Ticket Center (MK doesn't have a car park - you have to park here), get the monorail or ferry to MK, then get the monorail to Epcot, then get the monorail back to the TTC and drive home. OR (and this is what I would do) park in the Epcot parking lot, get the monorail to MK (which will be dead going in that direction at that time of the morning, whereas the monorail to MK from the TTC will be much busier), then get the monorail back to Epcot and drive home when you are ready to leave Epcot.
There are lots of different combinations you could try. You just need to know that MK and Epcot are on the monorail, and that Epcot and MGM have water launch links, or if you are up to it they are within walking distance of one another. AK is out on its own and you would need to use your car (I can't see a benefit in using the bus if you have to get another back to get your car).
If you decide you'd rather drive between parks then getting to your car won't take too long. MK will take longer than the other parks because you have to get the monorail or the ferry back to the TTC. Getting out of the parks and back to your car takes longer at closing time when everyone is leaving, but you should be OK for park hopping.
All this makes perfect sense to me because I know where everything is, but I imagine it must all sound pretty confusing if you don't. If you need any clarification, ask away.
