::MickeyMo If it's not too personal, I was just wondering how much people usually bring as spending money to the world. I've already saved about $725 (I'm very proud of myself!) and still have about 50 days to go (holy cow! Only 50 days!). I would think this is enough, however my boyfriend and I want to get the matching Citizen watches (that could be an easy $400) this year and I usually spend about $100 in the scrapbooking store alone. Plus, we use this money for the boat rentals and stuff. Think this is okay? ::MinnieMo

My DW and DD and myself are DVC members so we don't pay for rooms when we go. But we eat our meals out, we usually stay 6 days. WE take $ 2000 and always have some left over. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

We take very little cash (enough to tip and just to have a little on hand). The rest goes on our Amex or other credit card to earn rewards. Then we pay that off when we get back.

I rarely carry any cash with me.

Are you planning on paying for meals, also, with that $700? If so, you probably need to bring more. Even eating at counter service restaurants twice per day gets expensive, not to mention bottled water or snacks.

How long will you be staying? DH & I usually bring about $1000 (not in cash) for a six or seven night trip. It has always been more than enough. We eat at nice sit down restaurants almost every night and make a few purchases. Of course, we have not purchased any expensive.

For the 4 of us w/ meals. We usually plan on $200/day ($125 for food, and $75 for other stuff) That covers a sit down meal every day. We usually have some left-over.

This trip, we will have the meal plan. It is kind of nice to not have to budget those in. We are Planning about $1000, for everything else for 8 days. Hoping to not spend that much though.

::MickeyMo Oh no. Strictly spending. We already have money put away for our meals. We'll be there 11 days, but we've already paid for HDDR, the tours, etc. ::MinnieMo

I would have a hard time spending that much... but it could be fun to try.

For me, DW, and DD (19 months) we take $150 per day.. to include meals.

We rarely spend it all, until the last day of the trip. We eat 1 sit down meal most days...

Trust me, it can be done! :earboy2:
We usually do one sit down per day too, but when you add a nice bottle of wine to that - plus dozens of gifts for many friends/family, all the warm + fuzzy things like the photos - it can sure sneak up on you! :tilt:

we usually bring 2000-2500 in spending money for a 7-8 night trip

we also spend like crazy...its nice not to be concerned about money for one week a year

D7 & myself are going for 10 days. We are taking $2100 (food & shopping). I don't plan on spending it all but, just in case!

::MickeyMo Thanks for all the advice! I usually buy souvenirs for all my co-workers as well. I figure $1100 should be enough for 11 days...strictly spending (no food etc. included.). Right? ::MinnieMo

Most likely - so long as you can avoid buying the expensive goodies like WD Classic Collection stuff/LE art etc.

::MickeyMo They have so much great stuff it's hard not to keep spending! I think they do that on purpose. ::MinnieMo

Wow! I'm feeling a little jealous! Our family of 4 :earsboy: :earsgirl: princess: princess: (only 2 of our children are joining us this time and last time) spend about $150 on food per day. In terms of the 'extras' we pretty much only spend about $500-600 total over 15 days. Each of us has $100 to just get whatever we want. Other stuff is always negotiable, of course, :earboy2: it is vacation after all! LOL! In total, everything included this trip is costing us $7000. With six kids and two foster kids that's about all we can do every 18 months...or we would be living in a box somewhere for all but the two weeks we're at WDW! :rotfl: :rotfl:

::MickeyMo With two jobs and 18 credits of college, I'm definitely doing this to treat myself. I think I deserve to splurge! It'll relax me after a hectic semester. ::MinnieMo

for a 6 day vacation we are paying more then that just in food and misc entertainment for 3 of us (and we even have the food plan built into our disney stay!!!!). If you are talking the 725 is to cover food and spending on memorabilia then you will need more. If it is just for memorabilia then you will be ok. We probably spend 150 to 250 per day on a trip just for misc stuff, special cups, clothes, pens, autograph books, figurines, gadgets, magic tricks, toys, .... boat rentals are not cheap...

::MickeyMo We already budgeted about $1200 for food. That's totally separate. It should work out though because we already paid for the HDDR (and got the DDE discount) along with the tours, etc. that we're doing. Boat rentals I thought were very cheap! We rented the Sea Raycers last year for about $23 for a half hour. ::MinnieMo
