O.K. So I'm very late to the party on this one, but I need to know. We have never been to DL and are looking to go for February 2012, but have seen in posts that there is construction of a new "carsland" cgoing on.

Which part of DL is the construction going on in and how much of the park will not be accessible when we go 2/2012?

Thanks!

:)

Carsland is going in California Adventure, not Disneyland. Though most of the new construction that is happening is slated to be done by summer 2012, maybe you could push back your vacation and go when it is all finished, that way you won't miss out on any of the new stuff.

I guess I should restate my question then as I get confused about the two parks.

How many attractions of "California adventure" is not able to be done because of the construction?

Thanks

From my understanding (not having gone before the Carsland contruction began) is that Carsland is taking the place of what was a parking lot so except for an area called Bountiful Gardens it is a completly new area that was taken over and rides were not closed for that. By 2012 the only rides not going to be open are the new Carsland ones (and possibly some new refurbs). Everything else that is currently a ride that is being worked on will be done.

Carsland construction is not affecting any California Adventure attractions. It is being constructed in the old Timon parking lot on the southeast corner of California Adventure. That area was just a parking lot and thus its not displacing any attractions.

A few shops, restaurants and smaller attractions such as Mulloland Madness have been closed for quite some time along the northwest section of California Adventure. That should be completed in the coming month with the opening of Goofy's Sky School and Little Mermaid rides.

All the construction this past year really hasn't shut down much in the way of attractions. Its just the construction walls are a distraction but that should change in the next month or so.

Main Street in Disneyland has been undergoing a makeover but all shops remain open. Not sure if thats been completed so someone else can chime in.

Star Tours has been closed for refurbishment but should open soon.

Splash Mountain has been closed but will reopen for Memorial Weekend.
