How much of a thrill ride is 7DMT?

DH hates roller coasters - he won't ride Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain or Expedition Everest. He will (and likes) ride Splash Mountain. Peter Pan and POTC are more his speed :). Should I assume he won't ride 7DMT or is it lower key like Splash Mountain?

DH & I don't like coasters & we did the mine train & didn't like it at all. Fast in spots & jerky. Love Peter Pan & POTC... We wanted to try the mine train at least once but decided not again. Took me 2 months to get the FPs.

I adore the Disney coasters and love 7DMT (even though it was too short!). I expected a mild coaster and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of "oomp" it had. For me, that was a great surprise. For your DH, it sounds like it would be a bad surprise.

If he doesn't like Big Thunder than he most likely won't like 7DMT.

Between Barnstormer and BTMR
DD won't ride BTMR, but was fine on SDMT

We found it smoother than BTMR, similar to the smoothness of eve
EE without the height. Its very short though, maybe 90 seconds.

It is very smooth. We found it quite slow, especially if you sit closer to the front.

It's extremely mild and smooth. On par with Barnstormer, just smoother. DS2 rode it 3 times this week and loved it.

If he doesn't like big thunder, probably won't like the mine train. But only way to know is ride it. It's not that thrilling as it's in New Fantasyland, and it's very smooth. It feels a lot slower in the front, so try to get up there.

For those who don't really like coasters, one nice thing with 7DMT is that it has a bit of a coaster at the front, then a nice slow break in the middle going through the mine, and then another coaster section at the end.

Personally, I do not like big drops, so I don't enjoy Everest, but I do like Big Thunder Mountain. I enjoyed 7DMT and had no problems with it.

I am ALWAYS "the bag holder" on our trip with the kids because I don't do a lot of rides..

This one has INTRIGUED me and I am hoping that I will like it!:thumbsup2

In my opinion it's like a 2 out of 10 with 0 being watching from the sidewalk. I'm so glad I went at opening and basically had to just walk through the line to the front.

We do like coasters and I would say 7DMT is most akin to BTMRR, but MUCH shorter of a ride. My mom will NOT do any coaster type rides, but I'd like for her to try it because inside the mine part is very cute. It's fast with intermittent small hills and curves, but nothing that is "thrilling" or catches you off guard, and no big drops. We laughed when we saw our ride video after because we are both sitting there on the ride with our hands folded and no expression on our faces.

We used FP+ to ride it last week. It was pretty mild. Be advised though, that they do a pic and video while you are on the ride. So, that might make it worth riding. You get a free video.

There is a pretty dramatic difference between the front and back of the 7dmt . The front almost seems boring and slow. Great spot for someone who might be nervous, or great for child's "first big coaster" experience. The rear seems to be a whole different ride ...........it kind of whips you around the corners and over the hills faster, and it just
feels faster. Great for those looking for a bit more excitement out of 7dmt.

This is probably why I agreed with it being along same lines as BTMR. We sat in the very last row.

I agree with this, if you are at the back it is like a different ride to the front! At the front I was like :rolleyes1 and the back like :scared1: but then I'm no thrill seeker when it comes to rides!

I would say if you can handle the drop at Splash you would be okay. The ride is very short and very very smooth at the front. I will ask for the back next time because it is so tame. Hate waiting for the back end to get over the hills, by that time your already half way down the drop. So like PP stated I would ask for the front if you want a lower thrill level.

We were in the back so that would explain why I didn't like it.... Figures!!
