A question for those who are advanced planners or not...

If you are meeting up with someone while on your vacation, how far in advance do you think they should give you precise plans, as in what day for the meetup, where, what time, etc? Particularly if you have hinted at nailing down specifics a few times?

I'm kind of in a pickle with some trip planning and I have yet to have anything nailed down for a meetup with my cousin and her husband (he was just made area GM of the company that runs the Swan) who live in Orlando. I keep mentioning things that hint at nailing down a day, but I haven't gotten anything certain from them. We arrive in 9 days.

Am I being overly anxious?

Thanks

Shel

I'd be anxious, too. I am planning our trip in Dec. pretty closely, and would need to know when they could meet so I could work it into my plans. Being this close to your vacation, I would quit hinting now and just tell them when you are available and ask them if that will work. If they still can't say, I would probably just write off trying to meet with them this trip or give them a call when you are at Disney when you have time and ask if they can meet. It sounds like they are not very advanced planners.

I would just let them know your plans and when your down times are and see if they are available during those times. Or invite them to a specific dinner and see if they accept.

Because they live right in Orlando, it's probably not a big deal to them to make plans to meet up at the last minute. They can run over there pretty much anytime they want. Since it's family, there shouldn't be an issue with you explaining that you're trying to plan your vacation and need to know if and when they are available to hang out. I'd think they'd be understanding of the fact that it's your planned, family vacation, which you had to schedule and plan in advance.
