How much money to bring

"This is what I was trying to do, but I have such a hard time being accurate b/c I'm scared of under budgeting. The first time I did it, I overestimated by quite a bit, and ended up figuring 3000 for food  The next time I tried to be more accurate, and got 1700. So now I worry about the huge difference in my amounts I figured.

I'd rather bring more than enough, but I'm scared that no matter how much I bring will not ease my mind. This is why DDP has always been worth it to me, just to not worry about this.
I understand wanting to have more than not enough, if you if you split the difference between $3000 and $1700 it comes out to $2350, which is $261.11 per day for food. So that's about the $200 for meals and $60 for snacks/beer.

Just wanted to throw out there that the dinner buffets you have listed are between $42.60-$48/ person including tax, but not alcohol or tip (at least according to the Restaurant pricing sticky here on the forum). So for those, you're looking at $85-96 plus alcohol and tip, so maybe around $150-160 if you each have two drinks. The other restaurants will be a little cheaper, but I came up with an average of $140/ night for table service, plus $40 quick service, plus $30 snacks (3 each), plus $30 beer throughout the day. I come up with around $240/ day or $2160 total. If you guys didn't always each get 2 drinks with dinner, less snacks, less expensive entrees, etc, it could be cheaper, but I would probably bring at least $2000.

We used to get away with 100/day w/o alcohol. Then we went to 150.
Last visit few mos ago, we were spending almost 100 at lunch alone
3 adults...
so basically I figure we re at 175-200 a day when we don't indulge in alcohol as. much
I truly don't mind the sit down dinners or even lunches costing more... I just wish there was less Overly Salted foods ( I like to avoid buffets but I think most people get a better bang for their buck there)

Have a great visit OP

Thank you! After figuring everything, I think we're going to budget $2500 for food (which will include quick dinner at the airport the night before we get there too) and hope/expect to have money leftover.

Thank you everyone for your advice!

Thank you!!

$200/day is more than the standard dining plan, which is less than $140/day for two adults, and includes 1 QS, 1 TS, 2 snacks and 1 refillable mug, each! Doesnt make sense to be ok with $200 a day... thats dxddp territory.

I would use that dining plan calculator and really figure it out.

I htink that once you add in cocktails that is about right. Some of those beverages ate over $12 apiece.
