My boyfriend and I are going to Disney in April for four nights and I haven't been since a kid. How much money do people usually bring?

I know I'm going to need $600 for my hotel. But what about food? I am not buying the meal plans and we plan on going out to clubs and restaurants and what not. Also, how much is the food in the Disney parks? I am so clueless to all of this right now!

I am a big spender but he is not and i know i will be purchasing some stuff for my family in Disney and what not.

Let me know what you all think! If anyone can give me a break down i would appreciate it!

Take care.

Not counting the hotel--if you two want to eat out 3 meals per day (and depending on their 'fanciness') I'd plan on at least $ 250 per day for food. On the trinket side--sky's the limit. Make yourself a budget and live within it for purchases.

Used to take money years ago but not no more. Maybe 300.00 cash for tips, groceries etc, but once we're in Disney, all goes on a credit card, Discover for the cash back bucks. From previous trips over the years I basically know what its going to cost me for the whole vacation. Still, we average about 84.00 a day for food for the 2 of us. Meals are big in WDW and if you have a full breakfast and plan on a good dinner, you rarely eat lunch. Wife and I share alot of meals, we're not overstuffed and being too full in WDW in the heat, just isn't alot of fun. On our grocery stop we lay in beer, wine and alcohol, bread and cheese and lunchmeat, pop and snacks. Beer by the bottle at WDW is 5.00, ain't gonna drink alot at that price so hence our grocery stop. We take our drinks and picnic lunches at the resort pool, wife has refillable mug for morning coffee and lemonade so the most money out lay is room and tickets and souvinors. To us, charging to a credit card is no problem, we leave imprint at check in, all property charges are done with our room key and we get express check out, its itemized and we have never had a problem with anything.

We took $800 for our last trip for 5 people. that was for meals and souveneirs. We only do one sit down meal (chef mickeys on arrival day) and that we charged (since it was close to $100 by itself). Every other meal we ate counter service and shared. (our hotle had free breakfast so that was one thing we didn't have to worry about.) It was hot so we kept lunch really light (fruit or veggies from carts, or maybe an order of chicken strips and fries and split it up , etc...) We were there for I think 6 or 7 days. We ended up with $30 left. (we're not big spenders either..)

All you have!! :teeth: Seriously, everyone is different. It depends on your eating and spending habits. I consider four days a short trip so a little extra souvies would be in order.

That is kind of a loaded question. It all depends on what you want to do, where you want to eat, or what you want to buy. Some people go all out, some people go on a shoe string budget. What kind of meals are you looking for sit down, counter service, dinner shows?
