How much money for food at WDW for a week?

Hi,
I currently have the MYW + Dining package with AAA discount, but I'm thinking of switching to just room only discount. I just don't think we will take full advantage of the package. I'm not a big eater (although you wouldn't know by looking at me), and neither are my children. Even DH won't eat the snack, and 2 desserts!
So my question is, just how much do you spend on food in one week? It will mostly be counter food, with 3 character breakfasts. My DS's will share a meal, and there will be 2 adults (me and DH). I just can't remember how much we spent on food on our last trips. So what do you think? I'm guessing $70 a day. Does that sound right?

Why don't you visit DEB'S SITE and look over the menus. It's what has helped many of us here on the DIS plan our food budgets for Disney! :cool1: :goodvibes

I do hope I've helped!

There are many factors that need to be considered before anyone can really say if $70 a day is enough.

If you do 3 character breakfasts, depending on the age of your children, that could pretty close to your $70 just for that. That would leave you with no budget for lunch and dinner.

We are a family of 5, 2 adults, 3 children (16, 12, & 8) and I have always budgeted $20.00 per day, per person. This does not included breakfast, we usually eat something in the room. That breaks down to $7.50 for lunch and $12.50 for dinner and only one soda per day. Luckly my kids aren't big soda drinkers and most of the time prefer water. We always do one character meal and usually the Fantasmic dinner package. I typically do not budget anymore than the $100 per day and we usually break even through the week and that includes the 2 larger, more expensive dinners. Of course we skip on the small extras like sodas, popcorn and icecream between meals, but I am considering adding an extra $5 per day this year so they can have those extras if they want it. My fear is if they eat the snacks, then they will waste their meals, guess we'll have to try it once and see how they do.

As mentioned look at the menus provided, if nothing else, it helps to know what is served and where instead of spending time trying to find a place to eat that has something you want.

Also if you go to the Animal Kingdom, take advantage of their coupon deal. It gives you a meal, a soda and a snack that you can get later in the park. Excellent deal!
