As we are packing our bags to leave this weekend we are a little nervous trying to make sure we saved enough money for spending on the ship. Obviously there is no time left to save, but just wondering what to expect. I already have plenty put up for tips, as that always comes first...but just to ease my mind, can someone give me an idea of how much their bill ususally is by the end of the 7 days? (not counting excursions and stuff done off the ship or tips)... Maybe a bottle of wine each night and just the normal stuff, a few pictures, sodas, couple of souveniers...it is me, DH, DS 10, DD 7 and DD 3. Thanks in advance for any info that eases our minds.

My last shipboard bill was about 700 dollars. That included all tips and one excersion. I bought drinks, pictures and brought home stuff from the store. Just about the only thing I didn't do was play bingo.

Just under a thousand dollars here. Not including tips or excursions.

DH, DS10 and I are planning on $1700 for our 7 night cruise on the Magic in Nov. This is including everything but airfare.

On our two 7 night cruises our bills were $1300 and $1100 for our family of 4. DH had mixed drinks with each meal, 1 bottle of wine, various souviners, excursions, pictures, bingo, spa, Palo's.

Our bill for the four of us in July 7 day Magic was 322.00. This doesn't include the tips or anything on shore.
We spent 100.00 on photo's (love pictures of the kids)
Hairbraiding and one gift a piece on board.

They also receive free tee-shirts,lunchbag and hat from the club's.
Well nothing was free with what you pay to go. BUT IT"S WORTH IT!;)

Thanks for all your responses. I'm sure we'll be fine, just last minute jitters...DH and I went on a crusie (not disney thou) for our honeymoon, but the kids weren't with us so we weren't sure how much really to expect to spend this time around. We are so excited thou and really looking forward to having the time of our lives. Thanks again for all your help. :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Be sure to post when you get back and let us know how it went (and how much you actually ended up spending!) Have a great cruise.

We spent about $1500. There were two adults and one teen. We brought on two bottles of wine and one six of beer. I had a manicure and massage, DH and I did the Surial Bath. We bought both the 6x8 and the 8x10 photo packages. In St. Maarten we all did a shore excursion, in St. Thomas only two of us went. Our bar tab was probably about $300, and we tipped about double the suggested amount to each server/room attendant. We bought some things in St. Maarten (about $200) and spent maybe $50 in St. Thomas. Also spent about $50 cash on tips for Palo's and room service.

I'll write it all up in a detailed report in the next few days.

We are about to go on our 3rd cruise (our first 7 day though). We have done the 3 and 4 day cruise. I spent more on the first cruise because things were 'new' and I had no self control :D .

On the second cruise we didn't spend that much. I found that after the cruise, I enjoy my own pictures more than the ones from shutters. We really didn't need to buy drinks (I found I could live without Coke, but did bring some for in the room), and my kids were given a budget not to go over (it was their birthday money).

We have never done excursions, but we will be doing them on this cruise. You can plan out your excursions first and add up the cost for them. On board, for the 4 day cruise, we spent less than $100 (not including tips of course). I think it will be somewhat the same this time.

BUT we are on our third cruise, we plan to go every year for our daughters' birthdays (twins), so we don't worry about missing out on anything.....we know we will be back next year!

I did promise my girls they could each get a 'cooler' drink (whatever they are called) on their birthdays this year. But other than that, we really don't spend much on the ship! I am taking some $1's for tipping for room service (can't wait to try the cheese tray and the Chocolate Chip cookies), and some quarters for laundrey (can't pack for 7 days for 4 people, that would be WAY too much to carry!).

So it all depends on what you want to do, and what things you enjoy. There is SO much to enjoy on the ship, you really don't have to spend money....BUT....there are plenty of ways to spend money if you want to. It is all up to you!

Have a great trip! I am anxiously awaiting our cruise next week!!!

Our bill was just over a thousand dollars on our 7-day last year.
We went to Palo's twice, and bought all the standard stuff as well - pictures, tshirts, pins, etc.

One suggestion I have is to visit Guest Services regularly (we went every day) and check your running total. We paid ours down to nothing each day so we didn't have to have the thousand bucks to plunk down all at once at the end. We made our last pay-off the night before debarkation so we didn't have to wait in line with all the masses of people at the last minute! They are open 24 hrs so just go by there late at night when nobody else is around...
