How much longer will Disney be using Shutters?

Shutters works find on the smaller ships -- but when we traveled on the new ships with the large passenger capacity and discovered that Shutters (1) wasn't big enough for that type of crowd; (2) was laid out poorly and (3) NEVER had all registers open, we realized they didn't plan well for upping the amount of business they would get. And you are right, on our last two cruises there were hardly any photographers around, and very few photo opportunities in the ports! Disappointing!

They print out so many pictures that get thrown away. What a huge expense...how in the world can they afford to do that?

Oh....

Seriously, we take the most beautiful pictures with our smartphones, including character greetings, pirate night, informal table shots, and formal evening wear. We are not looking for studio quality pictures (although the quality of Shutters is at least arguable), we are looking for great pictures that let us remember and relive our cruise. We certainly don't need to pay someone hundreds of dollars for a CD with photos on it. Sheesh.

The only problem with this is they won't give you the CD or USB stick until 10 minutes before you have to leave the ship. So you need your laptop out and ready. And if you find a problem, what then? You already paid, and the people on the ship will refuse to help you because they have to process several hundred people in an hour and can't reburn them anyway. So you don't really have much of a recourse there.

Not saying you shouldn't check them - just that I don't think it will resolve anything until they change the policy and let you TAKE WHAT YOU PAID FOR.

Well I can only go with what I was told "i should have done".
Not sure is the CM on the ship WOULD anything, but the Shutters onland I was dealing with explained next time:
1. Get the cd, 2. check the cd (on ready laptop), 3. do not sign paper and take cd until I'm sure all photos are on cd..
He did say it takes 7 min to load a cd.. And said that shutters on the boat is supposed to reburn of any pictures are missing..

Now would that really happen.. I don't know.. But I'm not leaving the ship until my ALL photos are on that $300 CD..
I make sure to do my part everynight or other night by making sure ALL the photos taken are link to account, the least they can do it make sure the CD is loaded properly..

My laptop is 2 years old and it does not have a CD player....if I want to use a CD I have a special thing that plugs into the side, but that is another thing to carry (and technically it belongs to my work).
