How much is your utility bill?

a few years ago our electric company got permission from the PSB to stop having winter and summer rates, now they are just the same year round.

Electric bill here, about 160 per month in the winter...have electric h20 heater, washer/dryer/stove... In the summer- with 3 a/c units its about 150

No gas here, Oil runs us $275.00 per year, we fill our tank in the summer...and only use the oil fired furnace in october and april...at night.

Wood heat here, so far it's cost me NADA...other than to cut/split/stack it...DBIL'S LOVE doing wood (crazy huh?)..so they load up all the houses before snow falls. We burn about 9 cord.

House in the winter stays about 78' here in the living area, in the basement it's about 95' Wood stove is hooked up to the forced hot air furnace.

House in the summer stays about 70' with the 3 a/c units.

If we used oil- we'd go through about 1500 gallons..at 1.50 per gallon UUGGHH!

Western Oregon, almost 1400 sq feet 3br house. We have Gas heater and AC for the summer Eletric ~$40.00 and Gas ~$70.00. in winter. Electric stays at about $40.00 and Gas ~$30.00 in the summer.

Right now i'm pretty strict w/ our heating. In the winter, 65 degrees in the AM, 55 (it never gets that cold in the house) when we work or sleep, and 68 when we are home in the evening. Summer we keep it at 74 when we are occupying the house.

This may all change once i'm home full time w/ a baby. :)

All we have is electric now, used to have gas and electric in old place though.
Our electric bill is running $90 right now, has been that way for the last 4 months, but DH and I only pay $60 of that, we have a roommate. :teeth: Every so often Gulf Power looks at our bill and will prorate it so to speak. Several months ago the bill was holding steady at about $70 but after looking over our electricity use, it went up $20. Can't complain though, coz the highest bill we've had was about $130....that REALLY hurt our feelings. :faint: :worried:
Water is a utility too, right? No one has mentioned that, but I will. Our water bill is holding steady at $30 every month. YEA!! Highest bill was $42 about six months ago, hasn't been that way since. :teeth:

Gas and Electric last month ran me nearly $600!! WE keep the thermostat at 68 on the first floor, 64 upstairs..............we limit the gas fireplace also.....

But this past week, we upped the thermostat and have used the fireplace more often!! I am figuring my bill should be nearing 700 next month..................time to move south!! LOL!!

Boy, I've never complained about mine before, but now I know I'm really lucky! We're total electric (choices are oil, or propane, no natural gas), and our bill averages $110 to $120 a month, in winter, $80-100 in summer. That's with temps at 74 when we're home/awake, and 68 when we're away/asleep. We are also water hogs (on a well, so we pay to pump it), and everyone in the family takes a shower or bath at least once a day (sometimes twice, got to love those evening bubble baths for mom!), and we probably do 10-12 loads of laundry a week. We are on a co-op (Southern Maryland Electroical Coop)

When we lived in IN (about 9 years ago), I recall electric bills around $50-60 in the winter, $80 in the summer (gas heat, stove, water heater), and gas bills around $80 on a budget. (also coop)

We just had a hike here in our rates so don't feel too bad. DH and I have a townhome which is just around 1000 sq ft. Our bill this month was $175 for gas and electric. Our heat is gas hot air, cooking is gas, and our dryer is gas. Usually we run around $125 this time of year.
It is amazing to see the differences from state to state though.:wave2:

We live in Florida, our house is approx. 1600 sq. ft. and we have our A/C on 24/7/365 and keep the thermostat at 73 degrees. We only turn on our heat when it dips below 68 degrees in the house and we are all electric.

We are on the budget plan with the electric company and our bill is a consistent $230/month. I would GLADLY pay $500/month to have A/C -- I can't live without it!
