How much is your cell phone plan and who is it with?

Who are you with we have 2 iphones and 1700 min unlimited text and pay $200

We have AT&T.

We originally had little cheapy phones for our sons. Our oldest son got an iPhone 1 1/2 years ago. That's when we added our youngest to our plan. We got him one of the free phones the AT&T store had to offer. We added a GPS locator to it. The cost was higher than paying for him to have the iPhone with data plan. So, we took the free phone back and got him the 3gs iPhone. They were $50 at the time. I just could not believe that I would have had to pay more money (by $5.00) each month for the crappy phone and the GPS locator than I would for the data plan required by having an iPhone. Plus, we got a free family locator app with GPS locator.

The bonus is that we share an iTunes account, so if one of us buys an app or music we all get it. Now my kids just carry the phone instead of carrying phone and iPod. They both have an otter box, they have never been irresponsible with them.

I just switched to Verizon's new Shared Plan. I pay for two iPhones and one iPad. The phones are $40 each and the tablet is $10. I pay for a data package of 6GB at $80 per month. So my total bill for unlimited talk, text, and a shared 6GB of data will be $170 monthly, plus insurance and taxes, etc.

Verizon charges $10 for every 2GB more of data, so it would be $90 for 8GB and $100 for 10GB.

I'm "saving" more money on my monthly bill because I dropped a third extra family smartphone we no longer needed. I am saving real money by not having to pay for the iPad data package every month, though - I think that was $19.95. And, I was able to port the extra phone's number over to my iPad, thereby saving the surrender fee of $210. That was a bonus!!

We have 2 Iphone4's, one grandfathered in with unlimited data, one with the 30.00 data package, 750 minutes for 190.00 a month. Verizon. oH this includes the 22% off I recieve through my company!

I have AT&T.

iPhone 4S w/ 3GB data, 450 minutes, unlimited texting, nights and weekends, mobile to any mobile, rollover, and the premium insurance package. With a 20% company discount, taxes and fees, my plan is $100 or so a month.

We have 3 Virgin Mobile Android Optimus V phones. I pay $25 (includes taxes so $75 total) for 300 anytime minutes and Unlimited Messaging, Data and Web. I think the price on this is now $35 if you are a new customer. I still have a landline for $20 per month.

$176 with tax for three smart phones unlimited everything with Sprint and an employee discount (for the first phone only of 23%) That includes all taxes and fees.

I am seriously looking at getting rid of it when it will be economical to do so.

3 individual pay as you go plans would work.

Mine will have unlimited data, text, and talk for $45/mo.
Kids share a phone and don't need data so text and talk for $30/mo.
My dad doesn't even use his phone! .10/min. talk will work for him and I may only pay $5/mo for him! He doesn't text or do data.

(DH gets a phone paid by work so I am not including that into our calculations.)

So, I could potentially cut my bill from $176 to $80/mo if I do the above. Even calculating buying our own phones would save us.

I have T-Mobile, and pay $60 a month. Have 500 minutes ($40), unlimited text($10) and up to 2MB in data ($10). I usually up the data to the next level for $10 more when I travel, since I know I check email and use apps more. Don't have an iPhone (still waiting for it to be rolled out to T-Mobile!) but happy with my Samsung android phone.

We have T-Mobile as well, have had them for so many years that they almost laugh when I call to do anything to our account. We have 5 phones, 4 are smart phones with 2gb data plan on each, unlimited texts, 500 minutes, family allowances so I can control the minutes (I start each month with everyone having 100 minutes and sometimes have to move them around when someone hits their limit). Total is $161/month. We don't always have the best data coverage when we're on vacation, but can almost always make/receive calls & texts.

Forgot to add, that includes a 16% discount DH gets through work.

We have 1 cell phone that has 250 texts, 750 minutes (unlimited to other Verizon customers and on weekends) and we pay $44 a month. I don't need a smart phone since we have the iPad and an iPod Touch and they are free :)

Three different cell plans for our family of 3, all prepaid. We also have a land line.

Son: Uses StraightTalk w/Smartphone (Samsung Proclaim) for $45/month- We reduce this to around $42 when buying a three month card from Walmart. This includes unlimited talk, text and data. 3rd year w/StraightTalk and no complaints.

Husband: Uses a T-Mobile Smartphone (Samsung Exhibit II) $30/month through Walmart with unlimited text, data and 100 minutes of talk. 2nd month on this plan and so far so good.

Wife: Uses Tracfone prepaid (Nokia 1100 -Non Smartphone) averages around $15/month-with a double minute phone and always finds a code for extra minutes when adding new minutes to phone. Using on old Nokia 1100 that's hard to part with but will probably upgrade to a Smartphone one day.:)

Looking for a cheaper plan but not really wanting to buy a new phone for the prepaid deals and they do not get well reception where we live and help is much appreciated Thanks

Not really understanding what you're trying to convey about prepaid phones "do not get well reception"...

Tracfone claims to work in 99% of the U.S. -- they match their phones according to whoever has the most towers in a given area.

The rest of the prepaid carriers are matched to a major network operator (Page Plus/Verizon, Virgin Mobile/Sprint).

Plus, plans vary in different parts of the U.S., which means someone here may be getting a deal you cannot...

iPhone 4S from Virgin Mobile $35
Samsung Prevail for the teen $45 Boost Mobile.....they have a sliding pay plan for on time payments

I was paying about 200 a month for 5 phones (services were through veri zon 2 smartphones w unlimited service) One was an Iphone. But family didnt use them much. I paid the cancellation fees and switched to a prepaid using my own phones (including the iphone) with an online company called page plus cellular. No activation fee...I now pay $12 per month for 250 mins and 250 text and minimal data for 2 of the phones and put $10 on a third phone that only needs to be replenished every three months....Basically a $175 dollar savings for me. There were no cheaper plans at my old servicer and we just didnt use all their services.

Of course you would need to pick a plan that works for you as I did, But I cant believe I had been paying so much for so long just because I trusted my previous cell provider ....I have no problems with my service. And if I know my minutes are running low for the month, I can just add more time or if I know I will be using more data on my phone, I can upgrade to a better plan then switch it back the next month.

Wait times are long for customer service...but thats a price that i accept for the $175 savings I now have....that savings is worth a lot of extra disneyland trips!

I have used Pageplus prepaid for over a year now...(it runs on Veriozn and NEVER drops calls) on the talk plan 1200 talk minutes per month- 3000 texts and only 100 mb data(I don't use this feature) on my palm pixi phone(28.00 on Amazon) it works very well, and we cut the landline too.....
so the plan is 29.95 per month, flat rate.:thumbsup2
we use a blulink box for the house that ties our cells in to a land phone via bluetooth....best of both worlds without the cost!:) FWIW I would love an Iphone, but won't pay that monthly cost...

I'm in Canada, not sure if how prepaid works is different here or not.

I am through Bell. I have a cheap prepaid phone (I think it was $45 or so, but has a full keyboard). It's not a smartphone.

I purchase a $100 prepaid card which has 1 year before it expires (as opposed to the $15 cards which only have 30 days before they expire). I have a $5.00/month texting plan, and nickle nights and weekends for my rate. There is about $1-$1.50 of other fees (911 fee, etc) that come out every month.

I hardly ever talk on my phone, only text, so the $100 card lasts a complete year, which is $8.33 per month plus tax. Prepaid comes with FREE caller ID (which is like $12 extra on monthly plans, for some reason).

The cheapest way for me to get a smartphone with data would be $25/month + tax, through prepaid but it doesn't give you much data (however I probably wouldn't need much as I have internet at home and work). Plus I'd have to buy a phone, but people are always selling their old phones cheap to upgrade to something newer.

I'm debating on upgrading to this soon. However it's hard to, when I pay so little for what I have now. :confused3

I just recently switched to Page Plus. I pay $12 a month for 250 talk minutes, 250 texts and 2MB of data. My ds pays $10 every 120 days.
My dh and dd have Verizon, non smartphones and pay $15 a month (pre-paid).
We are not heavy cell users so this works well for us. We have internet at home, a landline and FiOS TV so we aren't willing to pay another $200 a month for cells, so we can have access to all that same stuff while we are away from home.

We have 4 NON-Smart phones with Verizon. 3 of the telephones have unlimited texting on them. They share 1400 minutes and have NO data. We pay $140 a month.

My DS and I are with Sprint. I have the EVO and he has a blackberry. We have unlimited data and texts. We share 1500 minutes a month. I receive a 19% discount through my work. I pay about $131 a month (and that includes the taxes). I am thinking about upgrading to the iPhone.

My aunt decided to switch to consumer cellular after having a few bad hits with AT&T.... They're on the same network as AT&T, but the reception is just not the same. I think my old nokia got better reception than the new iphone, but even so, I had better reception than she did throughout our 2 week road trip.
When we checked into Disney, I had 3 bars sitting in the room and her phone had no service what so ever. I would have to call the hotel and have them transfer me to the room.

It's also costing her way more than AT&T did because she doesn't have thousands of roll over minutes, free nights and weekend, and free mobile to AT&T mobile calling. Her minute usage was well under 200 minutes a month, but now that every minute counts she's had to bump up to the 1,000 minutes plan.

You need to look real close at the features you do use of your current carrier, and see if it can be made up using another carrier. My aunt agreed to do a family plan with me, so I can deal with the headache should I have to call AT&T to take care of something. And it'll be cheaper for her over the long run than dealing with consumer cellular.

Another good thing about Page Plus is they use Verizon's network, so if VZW has great coverage where you live, so shall Page Plus...

Unlimited texting or not, that's a lot of money for 4 non-smartphones...
