How much is your 2016 Disney vacation going to cost you?

Hmmm, the more I look through these posts the less I feel confident in my own costs! I knew we were splurging on Contemporary and had severely limited options for military discounted rooms barely a month out (military discounted rooms allowing us to add a dining plan while buying tickets separately for the military 4-day park hoppers), but geez. Some of you have really figured out some deals! Though we are cashing in credit card reward points to cover most of our additional expenses during the stay.

There are 3 of us (all considered adults) for 6 nights in preferred room at CBR (no summer discount (pout) but we LOVE CBR...so we suck it up), with 4 day park hopper tickets and the Disney dining plan came to $4,132.29. Direct flight from local airport to Orlando/Sanford Airport, $724. Rental car $212 and hotel in Sanford the night before we head home on early flight $92, memory maker share $30 = just under $5200 total. Not the best deal I have ever gotten, but we like what we like so we pay it. I could save almost $400 if I changed hotels to one that is eligible for the summer discount (Coronado), but we just can't get away from CBR. I also have $700 in Disney dollars on my rewards card and I will put $500 toward the trip, and the remaining $200+ we will use for tips, souvenirs and other OOP expenses.

Haven't factored meals or gifts yet - so $1644 + meals.

Staying in a preferred room at Riverside with free dining (plus dining, with a daily table and counter service, snacks and refillable mug). Will bring about 500 more for a few additional table service meals and a few souvenirs but I'm sure we won't spend it all... We are flying but got our flights for 70 each way!!! August 19 - 27, 2016 my 1st Split stay!!!!
4 nights at Yacht Club in Standard View Room $859.52
4 nights at Polynesian Village Resort in Standard View Room $954.00
Annual Pass bought for my last trip in Sept. 2015 so it covers this trip so park tickets this trip cost me $0
Airfare round trip from Maine used Southwest points so only paid taxes and early bird fee $36.20
food & extras budgeted $900 (my average is $590 on previous trips for similar length of stay)

total: $2749.72

Thanks to the disboards - in particular the budget section and resort reservations I have learned how to make this trip cost me practically nothing out of pocket! Earned Disney Gift Cards using Swagbucks & Perk TV Gift Cards to pay for everything but the airfare taxes and early bird!

So total out of pocket for this trip is:

$36.20!!!!!

Oct 8-15
7 nights at Poly Villas with DxDDP and 5 day PH......appx $7100
We are likely going to get APs this trip....possible before if a good room discount....or hoping for some kind of good room discount for general public to become available.

Add in the fact that we are taking a DCL Alaskan Cruise at the end of May, and the mouse will have cost us a good $17,000 not including souvenirs and such this year. (OUCH! When you say it like that, it kind of hurts!)
However, I can subtract appx $1000 off the cruise cost using my Capital One Venture purchase eraser travel points.....and will save 5% with gcards from Target, so that helps eat a little of the cost.

October 15-29th
2 Adults- 1st Anniversary!!
5 nights @ POP $534.60
9 nights @ POFQ $1523.61
MNSSHP: ???
Platinum Annual Passes- paid and will be used again in March
Disney Gift cards for Food and Souvenirs :
$1025

Total: $3083.21 as of now

Anywhere from 4-5k, depending on if we end up doing 6 nights at CR with FD or 5 nights with no FD. Family of 4 in November.
But...I currently have almost $500 in Disney visa rewards and hope to come close to doubling that by the trip so whatever rewards I have will reduce the out of pocket amount.

Since we got our airfare now, I'll make a new post of what I am paying for myself. We have 3 rooms booked, but I'll give my breakdown since I am only paying for myself.

Sept 3-10
7 nights at Beach Club
7 day park hoppers - $1,869

Round trip, non-stop flights w/ Southwest - $170

Paid my trip off with discounted Disney gift cards from Sam's and Target - so it ended up costing $1,939 for resort and flights! I'm very happy with that number, since I paid almost double that for a moderate resort last year for 9 nights.

No Dining Plan this trip. We are paying for ALL food with gift cards, also purchased discounted from Sam's (still collecting those!)[/QUOte}
I am interested how you paid for you trip using the discounted gift cards from Sam's. Can you explain that to me? I didn't know that Sam's sold these but after figuring up the cost of my trip I could save around $150 doing this!

Total Air Cost for 4 round trip tickets from ABQ to MCO (flying Southwest which was the cheapest) - $ 1,815.84 ($400 each + taxes and fees)

Total Cost for All Star Sports (7 nights), tickets - 2 adults, 1 disney adult (14) and one child (single day park), and Dining Plan w/a CS & TS each day for 3 (I can't eat solid food) - $ 3,110.70

My limited liquids and souvenirs - $500

$5,500 . . . I was feeling fairly good about the price until I read some of these posts. I'm in awe at how some of you do it.

I thought this would be fun exercise.....I think I want to throw up....

They sell packs of Disney gift cards. They have $150 packs (3 $50 cards in each pack) for $142.98. They also have $500 gift cards for $474.98 - I like buying these because merging them afterwards is so much easier, having less cards. After I bought the amount I needed to pay off my trip, I went to my account on the Disney gift card website, and merged them all to 2 gift cards (you can merge up to $1,000 on one card) and emailed my TA with the card numbers and trip was paid! I saved over $100 doing it that way.. so worth it! any little bit helps.

Did you though was the cost of fuel , time , effort worth a hundred dollars?

Absolutely! Our Sam's Club is no more than a mile from my house, so that wasn't an issue. Time wasn't an issue either - it was actually fun merging all of the cards together lol! Any way to save a few dollars is worth it to me, especially when it is $100 or more.

that makes actually a lot of sense. !!! and saved a lot of cents

We're going May 21-24 and there are four adults, so all of these costs are going to be split between four people.

Three nights at AoA (Lion King suite) with 4-day base tickets: $2,332.04
Memory Maker: $149.00
Estimated fuel: $60.00 (we only live about 250 miles from WDW)
Estimated dining (no dining plan): $1,000.00

So, total cost for four adults: $3,541.04 (without souvenirs and such)

You can also buy them online and they ship for free. I went to the target and bought the gift cards for my park tickets and merged them. It saved me $125 dollars and took no more than an hour to do.
