I don't know if it's a secret or if I am just really stupid, but I can't seem to find the cost of the plan anywhere! In lots of threads a daily cost is mentioned, but I can't seem to find an "official" price.

We're staying at BC through the DVC, so I know I have to add the dining plan to my reservation (if I choose to go that route) and I know if/when i call, they'll tell me how much. I guess since I'm undecided, I'm trying to figure out whether or not it's worth it before calling- this is impossible without knowing the adult & child daily rate!

Anyone know?...

2008 or 2009?

The DVC website has the cost for 2008 but has not listed it for 2009. Nor can the per-night cost be found on WDW's official website.

According to other (unofficial) websites, the 2009 costs will be for ages 10 and up/ages 3-9:

Quick service only plan: $29.99/$8.99
Regular dining plan: $39.99/$10.99
Deluxe dining plan: $71.99/$20.99

For the 2008 prices, deduct $2 for the 10 and up price and $1 from the 3-9 price for the regular and deluxe plans. There is no quick service only plan in 2008.

The regular and deluxe plans in 2009 are the exact same plans offered in 2008, only the price has changed.

I am doing the deluxe when i go next year but we are big in to character and special meals so i admit alot of our meals are going to be used there. I almost would get the dinning plan with out deluxe but i added things up. 2 maybe 3 will cost us 2points in stead of one. (hope that makes since, I really only started reading lastnight

Hmmm... We were offered the Quick Service plan for our October 2008 trip. It wouldn't hurt to ask!

YMMV

By all accounts this plan is not available until January 2009. We haven't seen any announcement from WDW indicating otherwise.

I have spent some time and figured out what we might spend on food for an average day. It seems like most days, the plan would probably save us money. It also seems like with the plan we'd get more food than we would on an average day too (i.e. dessert at lunch that we wouldn't normally get or drinks for me & husband at a meal we would normally just get a beer :) ). So, I figured we'd take the extra water and desserts (when we can) with us to drink or snack on later in the day. Our trip is still months away, but at this point I'm leaning toward the plan.

Do you have to buy the plan ahead of time or can you add it up until check in at your hotel?

You can't add it at check-in. I am afraid I'm really familiar only with the DVC rules, which say you have to add it to your reservation at least two days before check-in. I think the time limit for MYW packages is longer, but not much.

We go back in 2010 - my guess it will cost us about $42 per adult - we will be 4 adults per WDW - DH, DW, DS(18) DD(15).
That will be $168 per day.

When we went to WDW in 2007 it cost us OOP about $150 to $200 per day for food.
With inflation - $168 per day for 4 TS, 4 CS & 4 snacks per day is not a bad price.

WDW will make money on us when we do CP for breakfast or lunch.
We will make money on DDP when we do Cosmic Rays for our CS and Cindy's for dinner.
Also we will make $$'s if we do Coral Reef and LeCellier for dinner.

DDP will be a win-win for WDW and our family.
No complaints from us.

Thanks- We're staying through DVC, so this is good to know.
