The Fort must be the second home to LSU. I have NEVER seen so many of one teams fans as LSU. Every time we go during the winter holidays there are tons of LSU fans. Tigers everywhere.
I really don't understand it, my wife and I talk about it every time we're there. Is there a reason there are so many LSU fans in the Fort? I'm not exaggerating, there are at least 50 or so campers decked out in LSU colors every time we're there during the football season. It's absolutely crazy!
I can think of three reasons:
1)LSU fans often own RVs purchased specifically for tailgating. Might as well take them to Ft. Wilderness.
2)LSU fans like to cook. No dining plan needed when you can bring your own mobile cajun kitchen with you. I guarantee dinner will be yummy. Most of them will be more than happy to share with you unless you happen to be a Gator fan. (sorry Gatordad) LSU fans are very social.
3)LSU fans are nuts. At our house we have:
LSU doormats
LSU flags
LSU cling film thingies for the windows
LSU hats
LSU windsock thingies for the car
LSU tiger tails for the gas tank
LSU throws
LSU umbrellas
LSU beer mugs
LSU cocktail glasses (LSU fans like to have a drink or two or three.)
LSU dip/crudite thingy
Ceramic LSU football shaped serving bowl
LSU tiger ears headbands
LSU flip flops
LSU footballs for tossing around while tailgating
LSU folding chairs
LSU table cloth
LSU go cups
LSU coozies
A stuffed tiger that plays the LSU fight song
LSU license plates
LSU feather boa
A Mike the Tiger costume (don't ask!)
At least 3 dozen various LSU jerseys, T shirts, polos, you name it. Scott has four 2003 National Championship shirts alone.
I could go on forever. The point is that you have all this stuff. Why not plaster it all over your RV? At least that's the way Scott sees it.
