How much is a bottle of wine at the Fort?

Looks like garden grocer sells mixers but no alcohol.

I looked it up. Garden Grocer will deliver alchohol, but you have to write it in the "notes" at the bottom of your order, and all orders have to be at least $40 before the alchohol is added in.

You may want to check your shipping costs for the wine before you decide. I wanted to ship a couple bottles and it would have cost more then the garden grocer delivery fees. They weigh a ton.
We ended up packing a bottle into our checked luggage.

For giggles I just checked Settlement TP. Reg size bottles run $12-$19. And to give you an idea the Kendall Jackson bottle they are selling for $14ish is about $6 in the grocery stores back home.

I am not a white wine drinker so not sure of their prices ( I think I saw a bottle for approx $12 though). The red wine I bought was ~so~so~ maybe a Merlot.......had too much fun drinking it!! It was $20.

NH has great prices on liquor. In CT it would be the 14.

I just happened to price a bottle of Beringer's White Zin this past week. I believe it was 11.95. So yeah, the price is high, but after the 3rd glass, you won't care.

Hearing these prices helps ease the pain of driving 20+ hours from Michigan...We get to haul our own beverages without worrying about buying boxed wine or shipping fees. :cool1:

Ah, so that's why all my friends in CT (and NY) send me their shopping lists when we get together. ;)

Ditto here. We stocked up before leaving home. :thumbsup2

And fwiw (sorry about the quality)...

Dh and I were thinking of taking a box of Target's boxed wine (small boxes, equivalent of 4 bottles of wine for $15.99.) We are flying, so we can't take anything in bottles. We will be shipping some items, but want to know if it is worth it to take our own wine.

Can anyone tell me the average cost of a bottle of wine at the Fort?

Thanks!

VP

There are many online stores that sell vino. Maybe place an order and have it sent to the resort?

Timing might be an issue so maybe opt for 2-day/1-day shipping?
No taxes might offset some of the shipping.:dogdance:

So, driving down from CT, where are the best prices? We can stop on the way. Maryland is good. Cheeper farther south?

Just go th the Hoop De Do Review they have all the Sangria you can drink included with the meal . That is if you can find room for it after over indulging on the food. Last time we went my eyes were floating.

Not sure about on the way, but there is an ABC liquor store just a few minutes from DTD that has pretty decent prices (and we live in NH).

From the intersection of Hotel Plaza Blvd and Apopka-Vineland, head away from WDW down A-V (I4 will be at your back).

Straight through the next light (Palm Pkwy on right). The ABC store will be a mile (or less) on your right, in the same plaza as Winn-Dixie.

If you want to stop on your way into the Fort, get off at the Crossroads/DTD exit and go right. That puts you on A-V going in the right direction.
