How much "fun Money" per day is enough at the parks ??

How much fun money per day is enough ? (Assume family of 4)

  • $0 to $25 - We'll buy souveneirs at the discount store when we get home.

  • $25 to $50 - Most of the fun money went towards the "Woods View" room.

  • $50 to $100 - What's a few more bucks, but let's not go wild !!

  • $100+ - I'm in the poor house already from this trip. Let's live large !!

Just putting last touches on the itinerary, and don't have a feel for how much "fun money" to plan for. Got all the big things covered, including my wife doing the NASCAR ride along thing (what a hoot that will be != :rotfl2: ).
Just don't have a feel for how much daily misc, money is right.

I'll try and do a poll. See if it works

I voted in the $25 - $50 range, probably averages out to closer to $50 a day, some days a little more, some days a little less. We are a a family of three - two adults, one child. DH & I don't really spend a lot of money once we've gotten our meals & room taken care of. We do buy some snacks and the occasional relaxing frosty beverage (not many). Also, I usually get one Mickey kitchen thing and DH usually gets a polo shirt (per trip, not per day!). And even though DD saves her own spending money for our trips, we usually succumb to her cuteness and the cuteness of everything around us and fork over more money for 'extra' fine gifts and prizes.

We don't spend a huge amount on souvenier type things anymore. The one thing we do tend to spend more money than I plan for are the attraction photos!!! Every time I go through our check-out bill, and subtract what we have spent for food...I realize just how much those blasted photos come to!!! But, since we each get maybe one nice shirt each per trip, I guess the photos aren't so bad. I figure it comes to about $50 a day, for 3 of us. About $4-500 for 9 days.

I voted $25 - $50, NOT including any food except snacks. Best friend and I used to run the parks 3-4 days a week...ah, that was the life  We were both students so we had many days of one $20 bill between us, and had to buy lunch out of it as well. You don't want to be that hard up for cash on your vacation. But, if food is already budgeted, $25 - $50 will be plenty for snacks, beverages, and small souvenirs. Have a wonderful trip!!

Not quite sure what you mean by "fun money", but if it is strictly for souvenirs, then we probably spend less than $25 PER DAY. DH and I don't buy cutsie stuff anymore. We do buy one or two items in the $50-$100 range, but that's it for the entire trip. (Usually something for the house, probably bought in an Epcot WS gift shop, or jewelry, etc)

I'm only budgeting $50 because I am not a big souveneer(sp?) buyer. I prefer to spend my money on Mickey bars and popcorn!!

If you're spending the obscene amout of money that most people do on an average Disney stay, it really makes no sense to "nickel and dime" the stupid fun stuff, imho.
Plus I need $50 a day just for diet soda!

I voted for $50 - $100. Dh and I usually spend about $15 each for souveneirs. Multiply that by four and you get $60.

Hiya :wave2:

I have voted $25-$50 per day for 'fun' stuff.

This is on the assumption that 'fun' stuff is souvenirs & snacks but no main food.

I would probably spend the bulk of that on ice cream, drinks and ride photgraphs.

I voted on the $25-$50 because we budget $30 per day for snacks/what-nots. We're not big on souvenirs and usually each trip, I'll take our rental car and go to the outlet store when DH and DSs are taking a nap on our park break. That way I can load up on souvenirs (which isn't part of the $30/day) and not break the bank.

Thanks....great reponses !! Tight race between 25-50 and 50-100

BTW - My definition of "fun money" would include
- souveneirs (Shirts, hats, pictures, etc)
- The manditory Mickey Bars or Dole Whips
- Coins for shooting gallery and skee ball :teeth:
- Water mice ro bike rentals
- other such stuff like that

I said $50-$100. A few treats, some merch, and if you were to consume any alcohol at all :drinking: you'll get to that range in no time. If you pickup any major merch, you can shoot way past that :earsboy:

I said $25-$50. Oh, and I like the 'no dancing' singh from the rides at WDW under oogieboogie's signiture! ;)

Oh well...if you include Dole Whips in there, it's gonna be a lot higher than my original $50 a day for the three of us. I take my Dole Whips quite seriously, so didn't think they fit in the 'fun' money grouping. They are a major food group onto themselves!!! Skee ball and Dole Whips in the same catagory?? I think not!!!!! :rotfl:
