Hi, y'all! How much does it cost to do the tie dye shirts at the pool activity?
Thanks!

It was about $20.00 three years ago.

I was at the pool the other day when they announced two options for that session: $15 for a pillowcase and $5 for a string backpack. It stuck with me because it seemed like it should be flipped around!

String backpack, material-wise, is probably much smaller and as such, would use much less dye. That's how I see it anyway.

Good point, I was thinking about the construction of the item but I hadn't considered the cost of the dye.

Can you bring your own things to dye, like shirts, and just pay a fee for the dye? Or is it only the options they have available?

Yes you can. I believe Ed (bama_ed) did this. Not sure what the price is. Wasn't a huge discount if I recall though.

Great to know thanks! I will have the shirts for my children in case, but the back packs maybe worth it if not a large discount. I know at other campgrounds it was about half the cost if you had your own shirts, so i made sense (especially when having toddlers and shirts can be cheap)

Yes, Paul is right. I have spoken in the past how I brought my own plain white 2XL t-shirt to do the tie dye activity. I was there right after the crowded, busy Easter period and I was afraid they wouldn't have my size (they didn't so I was glad I brought it). They did give me a slight discount for bringing my own shirt but did say that more of the cost is in the dye (in a t-shirt it can soak up a lot of color if you try to give the shirt a complete spectrum of reds/blues/yellows).

I tend to stay at Corps of Engineers or state park campgrounds where organized activities are nil so I was not aware of the going tie dye rate. It was just an activity I had always wanted to try in my stays at Disney but I think it's a Sunday or weekend activity when we were either checking in or out.

Thanks for the info everyone. I would love to see pics if anyone has any.

We are new to the fort and I wasn't aware that they did tye-dye! I would love to see pics as well!

Mine faded quite a bit. They told you the longer you'd leave the dye on before the first wash, the darker it would penetrate. Well, they must have really weak dye, because I left mine in for over a week (wrapped with the rubber bands and wrapped tightly in plastic), but when I washed it, it was still quite faded.

It still looked okay. Typical homemade tie-dye. They do show you how to do the mickey head though (If you want).
