We are going (hopefully) for four days in March. I was thinking about $1000 for souvenirs and anything extra we might need. Any guesses? Thanks!

Wow! I spent just over $300 the last time I went on October and I came back with a waterglobe, several picture frames, tons of scrapbook material, a few plush toys, a CD, a sweater, and a few other small things. I had a hard time getting it all home. If you're gonna buy $1000 worth of stuff, you might want to plan to take a few extra suitcases to carry it all back home!

If you buy a jacket and a couple pieces or ART the grand could go quickley. It all depends what you are interested in.

We spent about $900

That is for four of us. But hubby didn't buy one thing!!

That includes 3 Build a bears, shirts, hats, frames, earrings, rings, mugs, ornaments, and much more!!

I didn't think it was that much until I got the Visa Bill!!! :teeth:

we usually spend very little any more on souvies....magnets,keychains, maybe a shirt or mug less than $200 for sure. Instead we have developed an expensive room habit (concierge at on site hotels) ;) but of course that leads to us spending very little on food!

I give my kids $50 each in Disney Dollars. This is what they get to spend while at DL. Both times I've done this we've come home with about $30 in Disney money !! Seems they're less likely to spend it when it's theirs lol
I usually don't buy souvenirs. I'd rather spend the $$ staying on site.

I think it depends on what you like to buy as someone else said. If you like the nice collectibles than $1000 would be very accurate. If you just want some fun little things that say Disneyland than you would have to buy one to two hundred items to spend that much! For me if I stay onsite I have to be careful and figure that is my splurge. When I stay at the Tropicana in two weeks however I will probably spend more since I am "saving" so much money and will therefore need to reward my thriftyness!

I am planning on taking $100 per person, so $700 (although that includes the baby and I'll probably just buy him a t-shirt). That will include a build-a-bear for 3 of the kids and an outfit for DD's bear. Other than that, probably just a photo album, magnet, and ornament for me. Of course, I say that now, but I'm planning on spending some time in DTD so we'll see... ;)

Thanks for all the replies :)! I decided to go ahead and get the kids $100 gift cards each. I guess I should have entioned that the $1000 was for any extras that we might need, such as food (although we are on the dining plan, so we shouldn't have to worry about it too much :)).
