How much $$ for school hot lunches??

I was just wondering what you pay for your kids hot lunches at school? The past few years we have been at $2 and now they decide to raise it to $2.25. Now that I have 2 that will want hot lunch, I am going to go nuts!!

$2.00 normally. On days that are: Salad Bar, Make Your Own Taco, Baked Potato Bar, or Pizza Hut Pizza it is $2.25.

Middle School $1.50 (two choices)

Don't know about high school.

DS's school last year charged $1.95. This year we were happy to learn his school only charges $1.60. This is for elementary school, as I understand it middle and high school pay more.

Anywhere between $1.60 and $2.60 depending on what's ordered. At DS's previous school lunch was $3.50 no matter what.

pizza (cheese or pepperoni daily, specialty changes daily)
and hot sandwiches (chicken, hamburger, cheeseburger, etc)

This is at a catholic school.

Even at that $ for 3 it adds up quite a bit.

$1.25 for my ds's lunch (elementary school), 25¢ for juice or extra milk, 50¢ for ice cream (only allowed once a week). $1.50 for my dd's lunch (middle school), $1 for bottled drinks, $1 for ice cream (can get this anyday). I think the hs is $2.00 for lunch, but I'm not sure about that.

Pre-K $4.00 per month (4 days a week) for snack.

Elementary school $1.60 per day.

$1.65 for elementary. I was amazed at this price. I would be going broke once all 5 kids are in school and want school lunch. I think I will stick to packing lunches.

Public elementary schools are $1.30 including milk. The PTO sells ice cream on Fridays for $0.50.

My older DD goes to a Catholic high school and they start at about $1.50 for a burger and it goes up from there. She usually buys a burger or pizza, etc. and brings her drink and chips or snack from home.

Growing up I always remember my mother complaining about how much she despised packing lunches (it was only for her, me and my dad). I don't know if it's because I listened to that for so many years but now I too hate to pack lunches. I am so glad that my kids like the school lunch choices and buy willingly! For me, it's money well spent!

I'm amazed at how low you all pay! We pay $2.20 a day and that includes milk. It's still better than packing a lunch everyday.

My ds pays $1.75 for lunch this year, milk alone is 55 cents. For what they get and the quality of it, $1.75 is a tad much IMO. Taco salad Tuesdays, shrimp poppers, chicken tenders and seasoned rice and pizza on Fridays (it changes but they do have the same foods a lot). After hearing of some of the schools with salad bars baked potato bars...I'm jealous!!! lol That is better than I eat!!!

our school district implemented free lunch for the entire district last year for elementary schools.

So, lunch is $0.00, breakfast is $0.00 - includes milk, but if you bring lunch but want to buy milk/juice, it's 40 cents.

Just went up to $1.50 at DS's Catholic elementary school. The saint in charge of the cafeteria sees feeding our kids as a ministry and she goes out of her way to make sure the kids are well fed and happy. She agonized over raising the price from $1.35 to $1.50 this year. I wish the finance committee agonized over raising the tuition by over $400 this year .
